It's a shame Sig discontinued the P239. Market forces I suppose. But you might be able to find one on the used market.
Since this question comes up a fair bit I did a little write up looking at my experience. It specifically compares the Glock 19 vs some hammer fired competitors.
Now I am just some interwebz idjit with more money then brains so take those credentials in mind when you read.
Glock vs a Box of Hammers.

Hope it helps.
Regarding your concern about the longevity of the polymer (my field of work), so what if it doesn’t last 4 generations. Just buy a new part and replace. Seriously, eternal durability is greatly overrated. The benefits of the polymer frame far outweigh the drawbacks.Since this question comes up a fair bit I did a little write up looking at my experience. You could swap the hammer out with a 39- or 59-series and get the spur back....The Smith & Wesson 3913 is another option on the used market, it has a bobbed hammer but the hammer is there!
Thank you.
I also wrote up why I, personally, like the P2000.

He’s mine. His name is Lucky and he’s a lab/shepherd mix. He carries his ears that way most of the time. He’s 14 this spring but still going strong.Hey Elkins45, every single time I see your avatar photo I smile. Is that your dog? He/she looks like a total goofball....... My current B.D.P. (big dumb puppy) is deaf in her right ear and so carries her left ear up all the time like yours. We call her "Left Ear".
This is my vote as well. Been carrying one every day for years. Love it. Accurate. Dependable. Concealable. Hammer-fired. Heaven!
HK P2000SK as long as you are ok with the magazine release.
Walther PPK if your willing to go 380. Like the other posted stated, too bad Sig discontinued the P239. Perfect for what you want. Makes a great large bore (.40) slender carry pistol.
How big are you?My daily hammer fired carry gun. My EDC since September
How big are you?
Asking because I might be buying my brother's Legion in the next few months.
