Think I'm going to send my VZ-24 out to Craft Coating in Oshkosh, WI and get it coated in Armor Black. Anyone here use them previously? The only Cerakote work I've had done before was a double barrel shotgun that HDC coated(they did a great job, just don't want to ship my rifle if I can help it).

No experience with them, but just out of curiosity what’s the condition of the finish (and rest of the rifle) like now?
The only original part on it is the receiver, Rounded up all the parts a while back and had ITD screw on a NOS Yugo 48 barrel I had to it. Has a 2 pos M70 safety, Dayton Mark II trigger, stamped trigger guard, a McMillan and a 4x Meopta Artemis.

Originally had it Parkerized, have had a bit of surface rust start on the barrel a couple times(nothing terribly serious) and figure coating it in Armor Black would give me the flattest black I could get in an all weather rifle. My favorite tool for making things dead, but it winds up in crap weather once in a while.

Yeah. Go for it Cowboy. I’ve never had a rifle professionally finished. Sounds cool and I’m sure it’ll be a nice rifle when you’re done. Come back with pics for sure.

Craft Coating got the rifle on Friday, they called today to say it was done(had a big order up ahead of it in the same color(E100, Blackout) and were able to do mine with it. I'd use them again, really great job on the coating. Would have liked it a touch flatter black, but I decided to go with the Elite instead of the H coating. Anyway, can't say enough good about them, fantastic job.
