Re: cost comparisons and other variables...

I've seen SR9s and SR9Cs at guns shows in the $350 - $400. You can find them on the gun auction sites with BUY NOW offers in that price range. You seldom see a new CZ for under $400, and generally $500 - $600; the P-01 tends about $50-$75 more than the 75B. Finding a CZ has been tough, recently.

The full-size CZ 75B weighs 34 oz. and is 1.38" wide. The full-size SR9 is 26 oz. (1/2 pound lighter) and 1.27" wide. Both have 17+1 capacity.

The alloy CZ P-01 weights 28 oz. and is 1.38" wide. The SR9c is 23.4 ozs and is 1.27" wide. According to the website, the SR9c holds 17+1 (I was expecting less.) The P-01 holds 14+1. Both models can use the full-size gun's mags.

Both are FINE guns and seem to be relatively trouble free; both are backed by companies with great warranties and great customer service.

The best route to take, I think, is to shoot both -- especially if both are broken in -- and decide for yourself. Do any of the ranges in your area offer rentals?
