Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

A holster for my new carry pistol and a Redding shell holder for 222 Remington. I try to keep a shell holder with the die sets that go with my custom barreled rifles and everyone has been out of this one until now.

168 lbs of lead cable sheath that had been stripped off and melted into "pots" - for 50¢ / lb. From the local scrapper, which is amazing because I live in a town of 300, 3hr from the nearest metropolitan area (Boise, ID).

Smelted it down and cast it into 1 lb ingots. The pots were very dirty, so there was a lot of slag. Only ended up with 156 ingots and they weren't quite a full pound (~9 - 9 1/2 lb).

Bought some ammo for my new revolver (S&W 686 Plus). It was hard finding a deal on .357 Magnum ammo, but these guys have great prices and it is Made in USA: https://cavalryammunition.com/

2 boxes of 50 each at $29 a box for 125 grain jacketed soft point .357 Magnum
1 box of 50 each at $29 a box for 110 grain jacket hollow point .357 Magnum
Also for my S&W SD9VE pistol, picked up 1 bx at $14 of 115 grain FMJ 9mm.

I will try out some .357 in the new revolver and keep a box of HP for SD. Otherwise I will likely shoot mostly 38 Special out of it as it is a lot cheaper at $21 a box for 125 grain round nose polymer coated reduced recoil (great for target).

Finally gave in and bought a Hornady case prep thingy, I have had my crank handle trimmer forever, and I just can't turn the handle anymore. Broke both thumbs in a Kawasaki vs Deer encounter and I am good for trimming about 4 cases then I am in just tears. Can't wait for it to come, I have some 3006 just sitting on the table waiting with everything ready to make some more ammoes.

Also ordered this week, perhaps last, some "right" bullets from PPU for the carcano, with the hornady gone I need to work up some average loads for this. In todays world you just can't get too set, primers seems to be a what you can get you get, so getting a set formula seems a bit pointless, good enough is going to have to be good enough.

Tried to yesterday, but all the shops have dropped any semblance of customer service and switched to “take a number”. If I’m leaning across the counter to see the hang tag to determine caliber and price and when I ask you tell me to take a number, well at that point I’m gonna take a hike instead. No skin off anybody’s back to turn a tag so a customer can read it.

Want my business? Act like it.

Just got a couple larger 70mm Arca Swiss plates and a larger 54mm ball head rated for 77lb load for the tripod. Smaller ball head I had (rated for 33lb) worked great for most of my rifles & spotting scopes etc., but wasn't quite strong enough to secure my pig of an AR10 @ 19lb lol.

Found a pd of 4831 imr, bought a box of Hornady 54 cal for my Lyman Deerstalker, some brushes. Talking about buying stuff. I seen and heard mention about Rocky Mountain Reloading giving a discount to THR members after a while... I was wondering about eligibility for that... like requirements. Since I am in need of some bullets. Thanks... not sure of whom to contact.. appreciate any input

Today I grabbed a pack of these after looking over the selection of used guns including a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum with a 5.5-inch barrel for $650! EDIT: Was back at the gunshop the next day and the Blackhawk had sold.

Got some ammo today. Cleaned out the gunshop of .357 Magnum. All they had was these two boxes left. $50 for 158 grain Federal American Eagle (50 rounds) and $36 for the Remington Ultimate Defense (20 Rrounds). I don't mind the premium as I am not paying shipping and I want to support this gun shop as they are awesome. When I bought the Hogue Tamer from them they installed for free. In case anyone is in the west Detroit suburbs, here is their website: https://shootersservice.com/

And then I put in an order on ebay for a couple of 8-hole speed strips for the 7-hole revolver and will use the 6-hole strips I posted above for the 5-hole revolver.
