More CCW in Israel

Wolf Blitzer began his career on IBA (Israel Broadcasting News) in the 1990's. Nobody back then knew he was so anti Israel. Actually he's probably just pro Wolf Blitzer, another narcissist at CNN.
I Also don't understand why people in the US continue to use Israel as an example. Israel has no constitution, Israel's laws are a Hodge-podge of Turkish, British, Jordanian and Israeli law in which any judge or prosecutor can decide if they want to prosecute or judge an individual. Career civil servants have more power than those here in the US. Nepotism, corruption and secrecy are the norm (just like here). There is no Rights in Israel just privileges such as the privilege to own a personal weapon (handgun or shotgun). A shotgun may be bought after taking a special test and is allowed for hunting only, usually wild pigs but also pheasant. Israel is not even a democracy, it is just closer to being a democracy than it's Arab neighbors, sort of like who is the closest thing to being a Virgin at The Bunny Ranch.

Okay, so would anyone have an issue if suddenly de Blasio (NYC mayor) came on TV and encourage those who legally could carry in NYC to do so?

I get that Israel has draconian (compared to the US) CCW laws. I'm inclined to agree that having a government official from Israel encouraging their citizens to carry if they can is a good thing. Most anti's here in the US know slightly less about the CCW laws in their jurisdiction then most people do about russian grammar. Will some anti-group seize on this to try and make political hay, absolutely, but the do that with anything.

Understand something about debate tactics. An argument that might be attractive superficially is worse than useless if it falls apart when thoroughly probed. Lawyers who make weak or specious arguments expecting the opposition to be asleep and let those arguments slip past wind up flipping burgers at McDonald's while their [former] clients languish in prison. It's naive, bad, dumb tactics.

Of course they can, and will, try; but why do you want to make it easy for them to shoot us down?

As Blackstone so elegantly put it in post 36:

...the anti crowd in the US can point at Israel and say "see, all they need are a select few trained citizens to be armed, no need for a system where anyone who wants one can get one"

Be sure to let us all know when that actually happens.

"A wise observation on the part of the old lady that immediately begs the question, have these Arabic citizens of Israel been through that county's compulsory military training?"

Jews, Druze, and Circassians are drafted into the IDF, and Israeli Arab citizens (Christian and Muslim) can volunteer. There aren't many Arab volunteers, but a good number of Bedouins do serve as trackers and in the prison system.
