Most accurate handgun you've ever fired?

Hmmmm.... Now you've got me down to splitting hairs. My Taurus 96 (similar to S&W 17 target model) will shoot 1/2" groups at 25yds from a rest, or my Dan Wesson .357 8" will make 3/4" ragged holes at the same distance. With those two it simply comes down to .357's bullet diameter chewing a bigger hole.

None of my autopistols are that good. But I once used a rental gun at the range that gave me a case of the 'wants' - A Hk USP .45acp. For a strange rental gun shooting reloaded range ammo to group like it did was eye-opening. Ten shot one-inch ragged hole at 50', hand held from a standing Weaver position. Got a spare $800 or so???

Which is why groups are measured not from edge-to-edge, but center-to-center.

If your .22 groups are 0.5" across, subtract 0.22 inches (one bullet width) and you have a 0.28" group, center-to-center.

Similarly, if your .357 grouips are 0.75" across, subtract 0.357 and get an 0.393" center-to-center.

Here are 3, in no particular order.
W German Sig P220
1911 Series 80 Gold Cup
Glock 17L

Freedom Arms 454 Casull with 10" barrel, SSK T'SOB Scope Mount with three Ring sets sporting a silver Leupold EER straight 4X scope. I worked up loads for that gun using a jacketed flat point bullet (300 grain Hornady comes to mind). I no longer have that gun, but never should have traded it, it was in mint condition and I could shoot small potato-size rocks all day long off the 100 yard range bench, and blow them into a ball of dust and tiny pieces. People watching me were amazed at the power and accuracy. I kick myself for getting rid of that gun, it would have been perfect for deer and black bear hunting!

I couldn't answer that, it would depend more on how I was shooting that day. I have shot very accurate guns just ok, and plain old Glocks great, on a different day it would be the opposite, I never shoot exactlly the same every time, close but not exact

Perhaps THE MOST ACCURATE handgun I've ever fired was a match grade 1911a1 that I shot with as a member of the 11th Naval District Pistol Team. It was custom built for me by the USMC Small Arms Training unit in 1967. Sadly, they wouldn't let me take it with me when I was discharged.

A very close second, is what I have on my side daily, a Springfield XD .40 S&W sub compact. That little blaster is fantastic.

3) Ruger MK.II Model 512

5) Browning Hi-Power

I'm not that good with pistols, but this thing just puts 'em right where I want them to go.
It makes me look good at the range......

I suspect the trigger has a lot to do with it. The most accurate hand gun I have ever fire was a Wilson Combat, regardless of the style of weapon.

My most accurate rimfire is probably my S&W Model 41. My most accurate centerfire is probably my Wichita International single shot. 30-30 that I uses for silhouette competition.
