Best shooter I ever owned was a Model 651 S&W 4 inch J Frame Square Butt, in .22 Magnum. Used to take 15-20 meter shots braced on my while sitting knee sitting. Target: the target tapes we used to cover the bullet holes IN the target. Usually 4 outta 5 into the tape, sometimes even better.

+1 for the Smith & Wesson 617 6" barrel. It's a lot of fun to shoot and insanely accurate.
