I have a Savage 110 in .224 Valkyrie that I really like, except for the Accu- fit stock, which is too narrow at the top, and I’m always frustrated with the 3 round magazine that seems to have a mind of its own. I grabbed a Magpul 110 Hunter at Cabela’s, and with the Club points and a 10% veteran discount it was a decent price. Around $250 otd. I had planned to go with a MDT Oryx, but this works out better for me, and about half the price. Magpul doesn’t make a .224 Valkyrie magazine, but MDT does, (AICS pattern) so I have one on order from MidwayUSA that holds 8 rounds. Early Christmas gift to myself. Here’s the before/after.

I am intrigued by that caliber in a bolt action. What do you do with it? Varmint, Target, etc.

I’m a target shooter. I’m working up hand loads right now at 100 yards, when I get the recipe that works best I’ll shoot farther out. I have access to 600 yards max but I’m not there yet.
