New Ruger Pistol Caliber Carbine?

Classic Firearms has 33 round mags for $9.00 each. Just ordered 4 of them in anticipation of buying one of these carbines. I already have a boat load of 17 round Glock and Magpul mags, and never had a need for the 33's until now.

I went there but couldn't find $9 mags

I used to think, "Wow, 33 round pistol mags! I can shoot forever without reloading!" But after using them, I find them to be of dubious utility for range shooting. I can't hold a firearm that long without my arms getting tired, and I'm not into spray -n- pray. I haven't really figured out what they're good for, but I'm sure they're good for something.

Zombies. Always zombies.

A kickstand. Or a monopod. :D

33 rounds loaded in just one mag cuts down on reloading, even if you're just at the range and even if you don't fire them all at once. A few of those mags would mean the difference (to me) between wasting time and having fun/practicing.

I use 30-rounders in my AR, but that's mostly shot off a rest. Actually I'm in the process of acquiring a number of 20-rounders for easier shooting, but that has more to do with clearance from the bench.

EDIT: As if 17:49 ET 1/3/18 the 33 round mags are back in stock at Classic Firearms for $8.99

Anyone know if it will ship with the nylon backpack take down case like the 10/22 takedown?

so funny to see all these, "If they release one with X and chambered in X ....." comments.
Not really. The gun being close enough in order to be offered in a slightly different configuration without any major changes to the basic design makes a good starting point for speculation. I most likely won't buy one of these in 9mm but if a .45 comes along I'll be the first in line to buy one. Simple as that.

I have to think this is just the start. If sales go well, which by this thread's popularity, it should. I bet they announce by mid year the 45.

I may sale my 9mm Hi-Point fugly and get the Ruger.

Some people would be dissatisfied if ya gave em $100 and they had to claim it on their taxes.

And the truth of it is that half the people that say they would buy one if only it was this or that probably wouldn't.

And then there are (few) people who have things custom made if they're not offered by mainstream manufacturers. Not to mention aftermarket that caters for a lot of needs and wants and depending on how modular the new PC actually is, it has a good chance of being supported.

Hoping to see lots of sales for the little carbine to entice aftermarket support. One plus is the aftermarket support that's already available with the interchangeable 10/22 parts.

All I know is if the early adopters come back and give this new carbine good reviews I'll be buying one. Two nice aftermarket items I would like is a Magpul take down stock and Ruger to supply and integrally suppressed barrel. Both exist for the 10/22 so I would think they would be good options for this rifle if it sells. Not having either one of these are not deal breakers as long as the base rifle functions properly, I'm in.

Here is where another company can come up with an alternative to the Ruger. Remington has a polymer 9mm that looks well made and I'm sure is a good firearm but they are very late to the game. I have seen where a number of folks want a fixed barrel carbine and NOT a take down. Remington could fill this gap with a fixed barrel 9mm carbine that would use their pistol magazines. Unfortunately, Remington is now owned by a conglomerate and conglomerates traditionally move very slow. The bean counters are in charge and not designers and marketers. The other alternative is the Hi-Point. They tend to be pretty homely but they are dependable. They just need to come up with some hi capacity reliable magazines.

Does anyone know when they'll be available?

I plan on putting my money where my mouth is... been saying practically no traditional stocked semi auto rifles have been released in eons and I wish they brought back the PC9
