Remington's motivation for moving.

I have seen advertisements on the satellite of New York trying to lure businesses to New York. Tax incentives and the like.

I suspect that Remington's leaving Ne York is just one small incidence and NY State in general is getting in trouble with manufacturing departing in general.

New York City is an albatross around NY State's neck and upstate New York can only cover NYC's costs for so long if the state is losing tax base. (yes, NY State has two sections, NYC and upstate New York.)

Interesting comment about cesspools. Compared to Upstate, NY, I would suggest that Huntsville is a cesspool -- particularly in the summer.
