The problem isn't finding a local or semi-local store that sells firearms ammo & such. I mean let's be serious, none of us here have to shop at our fav gun store daily, weekly. The problem with replacing WM*** is , grocery, clothes, vehicle stuff, all ''one stop shop'' and at decent pricing.

Remain vigilant, there ARE other stores and to that plural (e.g. stores) we might have to stop & shop several places vs. convenience of all under one roof.

Remember at the end of the day, who is and who is not attempting to inconvenience YOUR rights; remember at the end of the day, our ancestors sacrificed more than going across town occasionally, for something as simple as milk & lunchmeat, to preserve and further our American freedoms.

Point, the closest R King is 20 miles away, the wrong way for when I go out of towne.

PLEASE FRIENDS... when / if you do go to wherever store as an alternative, please let the store manager know. They WILL let corporate know. ''Sir/Ma'am, I am shopping here today for rabbit shotshell ammo due to U-know-who recent announcements. I noticed you do not have a ''no-guns'' sign at your front door (red circle slash thingie). I also will purchase a few other things here today, due to your policy, and convenience, pricing. I plan to return to your store in the near future.''

Hey it's just a suggestion, but why not let them know?

Rural Kings gun specials have prices that can not be beat.

Big R has become Stock & Field. Guess they got bought out.

“ Does yours offer the free popcorn?”
Yes, the one in Radford, Va. does. But I’ll pass on the popcorn after watching the farmers with cow poop on their boots and the women with chicken feathers in their hair dig their paws through it.:barf:

Hmm, the one near me has a scoop you use, no hands in popcorn involved. I gave up on it though because I found it too oily for me, to the point of nausea.

They also have good deals on lawn equipment batteries, dog food, grass seed, etc. And they always give my dog a treat. lol

Our Rural King is also inside an old Wal-Mart building, and it looks exactly the same way it did when wal-mart closed 20 odd years ago. Busted doors and everything. The firearm prices are pretty decent for a retailer and twice they were the best deal I could find after all options were considered. I know at least one person who lives an hour outside of town that is now getting off the highway one exit sooner to shop at RK instead of Wal-mart due to this policy.

Given the square footage they need and that abandoned Wal Marts litter the landscape I can't say that I blame them. Why pay for a new building when an already built one is available? The Rural King in Gainesville, FL is in the old Sam's Club space. They made very little change to it. Keeps the overhead down.

The best of all the "Farm and Home" stores is, or at least was, Mills Fleet Farm. The Mills family sold the business a few years ago, don't know if anything changed. They always had a great prices on sporting goods and a good selection of firearms.

Fortunate I have one not too far from me, a lot farther than four Walmarts from me but still not too far. The only ammo I ever bought from Walmart anyway was .22, 9mm, .45 and .223 other ammo I have always got online. Now Rural King gets ALL my business not Walmart....so be it.

I went to the new one in north Huntsville, AL the other day. I was impressed by both it's size and the variety of stuff they sell. Yep, got the bag of popcorn as I walked in; coulda got a coffee as well but I was coffeed out for the day.

Decent variety of guns as well. Almost got interested in a camo'd Ruger 10/22 but then reality intervened, thank God!

Rural King has pretty cheap guns. Most of the other farm stores’ inventory is controlled largely by a store manager or buyer. Farm and Home or Orschlen vary widely in inventory.

When a citizen is a victim of crime, they call the police. The police don't just show up at most people's house on a feeling, because they are afraid you MIGHT be burgled tonight or they heard there was going to be a gang land drive through shooting next door to you.

They show up when you CALL them, AFTER THE CRIME IS COMMITTED. Same for Walmart, they come after the CRIMINALS stealing from Walmart have or ARE stealing. Tax payers don't hire city police to just stand around serving as full time Walmart security.

Walmart is fine and dandy with all this. Think about it for a minute, IF THE POLICE WHO SHOW UP AFTER THE FACT NEED GUNS TO SHOW UP AND WALK IN TO WALMART, YOU BET YOUR ASS I NEED MY GUN TO GO SHOP IN THAT DEN OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

I want to live just as much as any police officer, if he needs a gun to go there, I need a gun to go there. If he needs his gun in a holster on his hip to feel safe walking through Walmart parking lot and store, then I need my gun. There are NO SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IN THIS COUNTRY!

We all are entitled to equal protection AND SELF DEFENSE under the laws of this country and in the eyes of GOD. ACCEPT NOTHING ELSE!
