Should i trade my cz-75 for a glock 17?

Why not? I did. I loved my CZ-75B, but when I bought a Glock 21 I decided I wanted a 9mm companion to it with the same manual of arms.

I'll be honest, I was more accurate with my CZ, and I will get another one at some point. The G17 is lighter, and easier to carry though. I don't have any regrets. They are both great pistols. If you really like your CZ you may want to consider keeping it and saving for a Glock.

I would make the trade. I prefer the Glock myself. The reason is that I prefer to stick to one family of guns. I would say you could also consider trading the Glock 26 for a smaller CZ. I believe they make a subcompact model.

That is just me. But I am a Glock fan.

the cz trigger functions fine and is lighter than a glock trigger, i just dont like it; it has a mile of take up, a vague breaking point, and weak almost non existent reset. i love the feel of glock triggers-short take up, CLEAR breaking point, and strong consistent reset.

but anyways im going to send the cz in for a trigger job. how do i go about mailing it? i was just gonna put it in its case, put that in a box with the address on it, then going to a fedex and saying 'i want to mail this to this address'

If your sending it to a licensed gunsmith like schmeky, yes. Ask whoever your dealing with, the best way to send it.
The CGW kits are not difficult to install, and much help is available on the http://www.czfirearms.us/ forum. There is a learning curve, so use the way that works best for you.
I wish you could try my 75B with the CGW (schmeky) "short-reach trigger mod", machined-to-fit Shadow hammer, lightened hammer-trigger & FP interrupt springs. 1#13oz SA, around 5+# DA. NO hammer camming, less reach (almost 1/4") to the trigger, smooooth, clean break and good "feel" for the reset. The adjustable trigger reset travel screw holds the trigger just beyond the reset point.
Total cost was way less than the CZ Custom Shop trigger job. My son has a Shadow with the Custom Shop trigger work, my 75B is very noticeably better.

Haha, funny thing. I am just now cleaning my G27 and decide to check to see why the OP has so much trouble with the trigger safety. This is when I notice that I have, indeed, done some sanding/filework on the front of the trigger safety in addition to changing to a G17 trigger! I totally forgot I did that. My G19 trigger safety is still unmolested. I guess the G27 bit me a little harder! :)

Have you looked at the cz-75 sp-01 phantom polymer frame? Lots of good reviews out there for it.

after being introduced to the cz hg, i sold my g26 and glock 17L. keep the cz.

I own 7 CZ pistols and 0 Glocks so I wouldn't trade. Look at it this way. You have a pistol you like. If you trade it for another pistol, you may find you don't like it in a few months. Then you will have a pistol you don't like and be without one you did like. I'd keep the CZ and brownbag my lunch until I had enough $ for the Glock. Just my $0.02 worth.

I wouldn't trade. I was all set to buy a new G17 last year but then I found out you shouldn't dry fire them. If you do this a lot the firing pin and slide will break. If you don't believe me call Glock and ask. They will tell you to always use snap caps. I guess the reason as to why they break is because the metal for the slides is over hardened. I had a 75b and I regret selling it.

I can honestly say that I've never heard of that happening before. The dudes down at my LGS don't have any problems with customers dry firing the Glocks to their heart's content.

that sounds awesome. schmecky says he has no experience with the omega trigger system yet so ill prob just be sending it to cz custom in arizona...so i can basically just put the gun in its case in a box, and take it into a fedex location and send it off just like that?
