StrawHat,

I like the blade site better than the post which tends to catch in the holster. I need to shoot it to make sure where it hits, poi vs poa, then maybe a blade site rounded on both sides (an old dime) at the right height. Seems I remember needing a really tall site to get anywhere closet to POA.

I know it is a point and shoot belly gun, but I still feel I want some kind of front sight

I have taken shots out to a measured 91 yards with mine.

This goes with POST 217

I had to delete my picture of the revolver in that post as it was a wrong image of the one I actually got in the mail.
Here's the correct picture.

Permission,special circummstances

I can' post pictures due to being away from home due to staying at my daughters, hads foot amputation, heart attack and s,mall stroke. Please admit me till I recover a bit?
I own an Uberti London, Pletta brrasser44, Piettia std Navy36 and a Piettia 36 p
Police model. All loved for different reasons. The London is perfect accurate beyond belief and the slickest action I own including a factory tuned Vaquero, the Brasser has the trait of super smooth action due to the natural lubricity of brass and 18-20 gr charges don't harm it(cow filler and Pyrodex give it accuracy.
The Police by Pietta is really cool because of the 6 shot cylinder and full side frame make 25 gr Pyrodex loads speak with authority and combat quality accuracy(a playing card at 15 yds). It's my pet because of the 5 1/2" bbl and my custom cross- draw holster rig. It's the power and speed/ease of handling.
I load 25 gr of Pyrodex in thhe steel frames and much lighter in the Brasser so as not to harm it. I have found felt wads and various COW fillers to suit the revolvers.
Due to my limitations, I only shoot at my club. I wish I could shoot CAS but can't.
I really enjoy the slow loading and opportunity to handle and appreciate the beauty of the revolvers!!! I am sick of pouring ammo down range and want to relish each shot! BP affords this.
Accuracy from both years of frames is very good, better than I can shoot!I can see why the Navy was!
Please let me join?

Crawdad1, Yes I believe it is stainless steel. Today I replaced the wedge and screw and gave it some more polishing. The wedge was blued so I soaked it in white vinegar and polished it as suggested by a good member. It was pretty tight. At first the cylinder wouldn't turn so I adjusted the depth. Pretty smooth now.
The wedge that came with it left a gap between the frame and barrel assembly. This definitely closed the gap. Still a hint of blue remains but it's OK.
There must be an adjustment I can make. Perhaps some fine sandpaper on one edge of the wedge. I only need a tiny bit off and I can push it out past the catch on the far side of the wedge. Here's a thread on this sigsmoker revolver.

Here's my entry fee...

Just bought this .44 cal 1851 Navy... my only revolver, it has yet to be fired.

Guess Im supposed to join up here...Just an old brass frame civilian '60 ASM for now. Hope one day to build a "system" on a Pietta steel frame, with long adjustable sight barrel, 5" barrel for regular holster carry, 3" for IWB carry, and stock for use with long barrel... THAT would be sweet...

Hmm... Wont let me upload the pic cos I already uploaded it here;

I don't have one of them new fangled smart phones but if you look below the box to put text, click on Go Advanced.

Then look further down to Manage Attachments, it would open another tab, and you may be able to browse a folder in your phone and upload a thumbnail attachment. Depending on how these phones work ... I dunno?

Can put a closer shot up if I need to. Its a pietta 1860 Army Repro. And my other bp guns. Love being single. Have guns hanging on the wall, an pistol crossbow range in the apartment, and a gunsmithing/work area instead of a bedroom. Can't say I miss her. Lol
