i'm 43. Feeling like "old" is creeping up really fast, especially since I work around teenagers.
I remember going to school, seeing just about every pickup with a rifle or shotgun in the back window, maybe 2, and the trucks were unlocked. Kids would jump in, toss their empty coke/pepsi bottle in the bed, rev their chevy 350's or Ford 351's that sounded like just plain muscle, and tear out of the parking lot.
25 years later, the same school. Not a gun rack in any pickup on the lot. Not many pickups either. Just these little imports with an engine smaller than the 1-liter of $1.50 water the driver is carrying, and tossing on the lot. Kids jump in these little things that sound like just plain perma-fart, and tear out of the parking lot.
Some things change, some don't. Makes a tear run down my cheek.
