Where has all the Federal .22 Long Rifle bulk ammo gone?

I read on another forum that a lot of people are having problems with it - lots of misfires and squib loads.
Maybe it's a bad batch and was quietly recalled?

I have been using it for years as my GP .22 round, and never had a problem with it.

ADDED: The bulk Federal is very good, but the Auto Match is great!

Well, I have a box of it... and well, it will recycly the bolt on my rifle, it not cock it... got figure... yes, it's HV LR 40gr lead solids...

Everything else runs fine...

I tried the Federal American Eagle High Velocity rounds the other day and really liked them. I have a Remmington 597 (which is known to be picky on ammo) and they worked perfectly.

However, they did cost me $19.99 for a box of 500.

you mean 400??? those come in boxes of 40 or 10 boxes to a brick... = 400.... yeah, the rat bastards snuck that in there like that..

Just went to Wallyworld ISO 550 Federal Copper Plate...

Picked up two boxes of the Hollow Point, copper plate federal and left 3 behind as I shouldn't be spending money on the two boxes I got. PM me if you're interested me picking some up and shipping it to you. Dunno if it can go through USPS but if it can I don't think it'd cost you much more than $15 a box.

here in Jacksonville Florida the same thing is happening. I hit three Walmarts one week and one had the red box federal 550 packs which all my guns love. I wound up buying the blue boxes where it is 10 boxes of 50.I like it to but it was a couple bucks more.

Same thing has happened in Charlotte, NC.
All I can find is Winchester or Remington.
I think I shall give up on Federal since I went through 12 clips of Remington rapid fire without cleaning and did not have one issue.(GSG 5)

I just bought 4 more boxes of it tonight. With ammo prices set to go up again I'm gonna stock up on what I can

Same deal here - no bricks of the Federal in town -

but, another +1 on Federal Auto Match - little more money - but will work in everything I own - hmmmm, could it be a price conspiracy of some sort?

By the way, two articles in the local paper in the last three days talking about the high price of ammo and the lack of availability and how it is impacting LEO training/range requirements.

Haven't checked lately but I bought Federal 22 LR at Dick's in Alpharetta by Northpoint Mall a couple months ago. So far it is what my ruger 10/22 likes best.

Was at Walmart last night, they had 3 boxes of it on the shelf, they always have at least 1 box. Maybe .2 hoarding hasn't started in my area yet....

FWIW, I like the price of bulk packs ($12 for Federal) but I hate the packaging- its all good until the flimsy lid on one of the bulk packs decides to open up inside your range bag:cuss:
