CZ-75b, bought it when I was 21. I wanted something reliable that I didn't have to tweak, and something that was heavy and all steel. It was nice, but the trigger reach was way to long. Sold it to a nice gentleman from this site.
S&W Model 586 (no dash) .357 Distinguished Combat Magnum . Bought brand new in early-mid 80's for around $300. Still have it. Will likely leave it to one of my daughters some day.
Ruger MkII.
Fun
Accurate
Cheap, er, inexpensive.
Somehow my Dad ended up with that one. Got it back.
That one started me on my downfall. Or build-up.
Have others that I "went in with Dad on" back in the day of mail-order from catalogs.
Savage .410/.22 O/U. Bought it when I was about 14, which would have made it about 1967. I still have it, it's the one I taught my kids on, the one my son used for hunter ed.
Ruger RST-6. 1979. Still have it and it looks and performs perfectly, though I liked it so much I bought a newer version (KMK-512) much later with all the bells and whistles.
The old Ruger has cherry wood grips on it and looks purrty.
