You know what? When YOU are the one in range of the aggressive feral pit-bull, you have cause to question. deleted -- <Sam>
My wife was attacked by a loose dog in our neighborhood while walking, fortunately for the cur, it was before she started carrying.
My OPINION only, deal with it...
Get a rifle type sight for the front of the barrel. This will raise the front sight, and you can start over from scratch with an adjustable rear sight, and get exactly what you want for sight picture and POI.

I can relate to the "not enough money to be a collector" bit. I'm in that camp. As long as I have to scrimp and save to buy a gun, it's going to be one that I can shoot. There are just too many guns for sale that I would like to shoot, compared to those that I can afford to procure to just sit...
I don't shoot birds. Except clay ones. I reload Win AA's exclusively for trap. Trap is my only game. We all seem to notice at the trap range that the promo loads tend to send the wads flying all over the place, where those of us that reload, see the wads flying direct to the clay. That just has...
Furthermore, I'm guessing that as you said you "jerked" the trigger, the 9mm hole isn't anywhere near where you expected it to be. Hey, I would have most likely done the same thing. NONE of us train enough.

And, aren't you glad the family wasn't home? I know I'D NEVER hear the end of...
One more thing, (I just re-read the thread title). I have found the customer lack-of-service at Rock River Arms to be the pinnacle of abysmal. Seriously. I have finally achieved reliability from my LAR-15, but with absolutely NO HELP from them. Really, not so much as a return phone call, return...
Another thing, I never shot a Glock before yesterday. I know, weird. Still, now that I have, and I've seen a new student shoot her best groups to date with a wrung-out rental G19, I have a new respect for them. She ended up buying one before leaving the gunshop. Now, after shooting the rental...
"This probably seems stupid to many, but when I target shoot, I just prefer to hold something which has attractive lines..."
Yep. You said "target shoot". So, if you're serious about "target shooting", the only line that matters is the line surrounding the group. And the line from the center...
Rimfire, Sig Hammerli Trailside
Centerfire, Smith 686+ 4". Scary accurate. Wolff spring kit and general cleanup inside. A lot of people have shot all or most of my guns, and the Smith 686 is by far the favorite.
I love the Dan Wesson 1911 Commander Bobtail, but even with the alleged match...
Interesting that I'd see this thread today. I just got back from a trip to the range with a recent basic pistol student. She wanted to try some different guns before buying. She had shot my 9mm Beretta full-sized pistol, my Smith 3913NL (one of my personal favorites), a Walther p22, and...
It may help to change the grip just slightly differently. If you're pulling slightly to one side or the other, move the pistol just slightly, very slightly in your hand towards the opposite side. And if you're pulling it down slighty, try just a bit more pressure with the upper fingers on the...
As much as I hate saying this...
"Yeah, what Atblis said".
Fix the 556, kick your C/S department in the arse, THEN try to pull the wool over our collective eyes once again.

I'm seeing a common problem here...some people are applying logic to 922r.
Hah! Good luck with that! My AK's are capable of moving between legal and evil with the smallest change of the most insignificant type. It's almost as if, they intended to make it very strange and difficult to remain...
As with any rifle, (or handgun for that matter), it depends on what you plan to do with it. A national match rifle, if you never use it for matches, is of no use except to get tighter groups while everyday target shooting or plinking. Now if you're planning to shoot competitively, it's worth the...
Colorado, 100 bucks for the class, but there are cheaper classes, as there is no requirement for shooting an actual gun. Guns and ammo were provided by instructor.
I think it was 150 bucks for all the sheriff's fees and CBI fees.
Good for 5 years, and in the interim, I've obtained the NRA...
Springfield XD40 for Beretta 90-Two, hated the XD, love the Beretta.
Smith .38 snub for Walther PPS9mm, wife hated the snub and I love the Walther.
Jeff
Don't forget the "straw purchase" aspect. If you bought a gun, not for yourself, but for another, that is a "straw purchase", and the only person that can do that is Mayor Bloomberg of New York City.
