    Chiappa Double badger?

I saw one of these in 22LR/410. The trigger is nice. The balance is good. But I'm unsure of it's level of accuracy. Does anyone on here have one? If so. How is it for 50 yards and closer? It would be a squirrel rifle/shotgun.

    Another one for the freezer

Took my wife out for the last weekend of alternative methods season. 6 does came through nose to tail. I tried to get her to shoot each time one paused in the small shooting lane. But she kept bouncing back and forth between deer. I gave up and was getting ready to shoot one through the brush...

Anyone use rubber band on mold?

I've been casting using Lee 2 cavity molds. The 45 caliber ones need to cool before dumping. So I put a rubber band on the handles and cast with 2 molds at the same time. It was a low cost way to double my production.

    Christmas came early.

My wife bought me a Barnet Whitetail hunter STR. She gave it to me early so I can sight it in tomorrow and hunt the remainder of deer season with it. I had mentioned a crossbow in passing and she ran with it. My brother did the research for her and this is the one they chose.

Stopped at a pawn shop today.

Found 3 25 pounds bags of Magnum shot for 50 per. Bought the #5 and #7 1/2. Left the #8 for someone who doesn't hunt. At half an oz per shot. It will last a while. Powder was in the $45 per pound range. So I left it. Got a Lyman 46th and Sierra 3rd edition for $5 per. The manuals have written...

    Found some unusual brass

I hit the jackpot today. Found 10mm, 7x57, 308, 30-06, 303 Brit, 45ACP, and the usual 9 and 223. There was an oddity though. Every price of 7x57 had these strange marks on the rim and body. What was it fired from?

    Lee .452-230TCFP

Some of our members twisted my arm and got me to buy a the 230gr Lee mold. I cast a few and am starting with 4.5 gr of bullseye. I will work up from there if the accuracy isn't what I'm looking for. The nice thing is My seating depth is the same as my 452-255 mold. So I don't need to change...

Found SRP, SPP, LPP, and LRP

Pawn shop 30 minutes from the house has all the primers I could want for the mere price of 15 or hundred:) Good thing I wasn't taking a drink of coffee when my brother told me the price. He didn't pick any up for me. All my brother's have a standing order for 1000 LPP if they're under 90/1000...

    1911 slide peening question

The 1911 in question is a stainless para 1911 Expert. I'm working up a load and want to avoid damage. An I correct in thinking the slide should not contact the slide stop when firing? Also how often do I change the spring? I'm at approximate 700 rounds of ball ammo and about 200 light target...

    Cast 22 caliber bullets.

I bought 410 brass the other day and needed $15 to get the free shipping so I ordered a 225-55RF. Anyone use cast in their 223? I'm going to put my mold back until I get a better handle on powder coating. I need to order some better quality powder coat.

    1911 45 ACP zero

I'm working up a load for a 1911. One powder charge was hitting 1" high at 10 yards. The other was 2". Hypothetically. What would the expected POI be at 25 and 50 yards? Once I'm done I'll test at distance. But I'm curious what I should expect.

    Brass .410

My brother and I have a couple beginning rabbit hunters and have to feed 410s. Do any of you use the brass shells? Do you use an over powder wad and shot cup or the classic wad stack? If you use the wad stack. How does it pattern compared to the shot cup?

    Another Lee mold question

I was asking earlier about the .358 molds and got good answers. I'm getting ready to order the 358-125 to go along with my 358-200. My wife wants me to order a mold for her 1911. I'm leaning toward the 452-255 so I can cast for my muzzleloader also. It likes 250-300 grain bullets. I did...

Light strikes with Fiocchi LR primers

I bought 3000 of these before the last shortage started. I got several light strikes in my wife's Marlin and blamed it on me not seating them deep enough. This morning I had another light strike with my Weatherby. The amount of seating force it takes to seat then would deform a CCI LR. I...

Looks like a white opener of deer season.

I haven't had snow in deer season since I hunted in the Upper peninsula of Michigan. We have snow in South East Missouri. I'm taking my 3 and 4 year old together since my wife only gets to hunt a couple days this year. I have extra snacks, hot chocolate, and blankets for them. It's going to...

Who is using a new load for deer season?

With all the shortages. How many people had to change up their load for deer season? I've stepped all the way down to my 5.56 AR for this season. I'm using my failsafe 77 SMK with cannelure. It's my lightest, low recoil rifle. It's never failed on hogs, deer, or coyotes. And I can't afford to...

    Sighting in for deer season.

Finally got back to the range. My wife's 260 hit the bulls eye on the first shot. Like it does every year. I changed my muzzle device on my AR for deer season. So it needed 1 inch down and 3/4 left. My poor tasco world class finally decided to bite the dust. So I need to put a different scope on...

    Surviving a gunshot wound

Approximately 2 weeks ago I was shot in the pelvis by a 7.62x39. By a miracle only one vein needed repaired. The x-rays look like I took a shotgun blast. But the structure of my pelvis is solid. I'm off narcotics already and am getting by on Tylenol and a muscle relaxer. I can gimp around, go to...

    Coyote hunting with dogs

I went coyote hunting with my coworker and some of his friends. It's a lot more fun running them with dogs than calling them. After driving around calling we located a pack in a holler. We dumped 2 dogs and waited. After they had the coyote running. We turned 4 more hounds loose. Shot 15...

    Which Lee 358 bullet mold?

I already have a 358-200 GC. My main use will be in my 357 and 38 special pistols. I'm leaning toward the 125 RNFP. I've had excellent accuracy from cast 125s anywere from light 38 to hot 357. The other top contender is the 105 SWC. It could double in my wife's 9mm. If one of the others is...
