    out if state and 4473

About 40 years ago, I bought a M700 in 222 from a Texas gun store. At the time I was a resident of Texas. I gave the rifle to my dad who was also a Texas resident, as a gift. Now the rifle which is still in Texas, is being given back to me. I am no longer a resident of Texas and reside 3 states...

    03a4 rebarrel to 9.3x62

Just curious to what would rebarreling a sporterized 03a4 action rifle, from 30-06 to 9.3x62 entail. Would the magazine need modified? Would the action be long enough for feeding the heavier/longer bullets?

    New Ruger 77/44

I got this 77/44 from Cabelas the other day. It was priced at 399. I could not pass up a chance at a 44 mag rifle with 1-20 twist. I put a 3x9 on the rifle, I know, to much scope for a 44 but it was sitting around unused. The scope doesn't overwhelm the little rifle, so i got used to it fairly...

    sabots for 30-06

I am considering loading some sabots for my 30-06 bolt action rifle. Like these http://www.sabotreloadingpro.com/product/15223572. I am curious of real world results and thoughts. Ultimately I would like to see fair accuracy, maybe 2 or less MOA, and point of impact within a few inches of my...

    American made AK-47s

I saw this story on Fox. Apparently the company who makes AK-47 wants to move to Florida. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/01/28/russias-iconic-ak-47-to-be-made-in-usa.html?intcmp=hpbt2

    17WSM and the B-Mag ??

I never see anyone saying anything nice about the B-Mag. I was looking at one at Wal-Marts today, and it looked like a capable rifle. I am wondering if Savage has worked out the bugs yet?

    homemade TC barrels

Anyone making their own barrels for Thompson Contenders?. The price of just a barrel on ebay exceed the value of the the pistol. Doesn't look like a difficult project. Am I right?

Thompson contenders 7TCU or 7-30 Walters

I know these threads or "6 of one half dozen of another", but I am really interested in feed back on these two rounds from Contender pistols. Primary use would be Nebraska deer, with an occasional varmint thrown in. I have several barrels but this would be my first foray in the 7mm pistol...

case separation in die - stuck

While depriming and neck sizing 357 Herretts, made from RP 30-30 case, I had one separate at the case head in the die. I tried the bristle brush, and using a rod to catch the rim of the mouth. No joy on both attempts. Any tips on how to proceed. The sizer is a Pacific Durachrome. I asked...

    New Cabela's box turkey call

I picked up a new turkey call this afternoon after making a stop at the Cabela's store. It is a Cabela's SLT Boat Paddle box call, with dark wood and very nice. I can't wait to see the look on that gobbler's face when he realizes he has been fooled. This call sounds better than most hens. Anyone...

    m1969 triggers

Any one reworked the trigger or replaced trigger on M1969 trainer? I had gun out today and realized I had never used it on a moving target. The trigger is a two staged trigger.

    proud of my .36 rifle

I thought I posted this earlier, so apologies if it shows up as a double post. I found this rifle in a pawn shop and got it at a bargain because it was possibly loaded. I refinished the wood and browned the barrel. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I was all smiles after shooting...

    Euroarms Kentucian .36

I bought a 36 caliber Euroarms Kentuckian percussion rifle today. The barrel was proofed in 1974. Barrel is stamped Jaeger made in Brescia, Italy. The gun seems to have been cared for, though it was dried out, as if it spent a long time in the closet. Anyone else have one?

    adjustable rear sight recommendations

I have a rifle I want to put an adjustable rear sight on. The rear sight will need to have a dovetail base, and mount on the barrel. I am considering a peep sight of sorts, but am concerned about the amount of light required to use peeps when it is that far from my eye. Would a radioactive or...

    Turkey and pop up blinds

I am wanting a pop up blind for this turkey season. I am hunting Merrians and maybe Rio Grandes. Will the turkey shy from the blind? Will calling in the blind distort the sound?

    wanting to convert flintlock

Ok, I am not as much of a mountain man as I thought I was. So am now wanting to convert my Pedersoli Kentucky rifle from flintlock to percussion. I would be willing to trade my lock for a percussion lock from the same type rifle. Anyone ever made this conversion in either direction? any advise?

short case 50 caliber bolt actions

I am curious, Has anyone converted a bolt action to a 50 caliber pistol round or similiar? I am thinking along the lines of a carbine like the 77/44. I know it is over kill for deer, but it would be perfect for toilets and such. Plus it would be a "fifty".
