Dalton - to this we need to add a couple of anti-gun proposals that may be voted on this week.
Those are:
SB1657 - would force gun dealers to go through state level licensing in addition to federal licensing. This would increase costs enormously and for many small dealers out of business.
HB2354 - House version of SB2435 "lethal protection".
and HB 4338 - to stop raffles where a "modern sporting rifle" (aka "assault rifle") is the raffle's prize.

Question about airports in Fl. Are you allowed to pick up a departing or arriving passenger with a firearm in your possession, as long as you are just passing through? Not entering the terminal, but still on the property?

Absolutely NOT ... Florida is one of 8 states that do not allow any firearms in any part of the airport ... please don't do it

https://amgoa.org/State-Permit-Reciprocity/airport-carry

§790.06 (12) (a) A license issued under this section does not

authorize any person to openly carry a handgun or carry a

concealed weapon or firearm into: (14) The inside of the

passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport, provided that

no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm

into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment for

purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully

transported on any aircraft;

https://amgoa.org/State-Permit-Reciprocity/airport-carry
This has lead to confusion in the past even outside the terminal. In one case a lawful concealed carry licensee had his firearm become accidentally exposed while helping to unload luggage for someone who he was dropping off at the airport. Airport police overreacted and he ended up cuffed on the sidewalk outside until the officers realized their mistake.

These incidents don't happen in the states where the limit on carry is clearly defined as in the "sterile area".

Wanted to add Idaho's Senate Bill 1297. Its language signals a move to make Idaho a true "Constitutional Carry" state.

Section 4 heading: "Subsection (3) of this section shall not apply to restrict or prohibit the carrying or possession of:"

Section 4f: "A concealed handgun by a person who is: (i) Over twenty-one (21) years of age; (ii) A resident of Idaho, a resident of a state other than Idaho or a current member of the armed forces of the United States; and (iii) Is not disqualified from being issued a license under sub-section (11) of this section."

Bold text is by me to highlight the change.

I called the TSA this morning, conferenced in from Palm Beach International Airport, about having a gun when picking up or dropping off. They assured me that it is fine to have a gun in the vehicle as long as you are not entering the secure areas, "the Terminal". I specifically asked about check in at curbside, and they said there is no problem with having a firearm.

in Pa currently it's legal to open carry though it is frowned upon. and only concealed carry alowed dureing a state of a emergancy. please clarify for me.

Frowned upon? Not really I, and many people I know, open carry on a daily basis (as long as it's not 20 degrees out). Police know it's legal and in 9 years of open carrying I have never had one negative incident.

During a state of emergency you must have a 'license to carry' to open carry, that's the only restriction. On that note there's a bill in Harrisburg to remove that language since dippy governor Wolf decided to declare a state of emergency over the opiod problem.

We don't normally post about a single bills any more due to time constraints but one came in today (actually the text did) that shows the absolute stupidity of some liberals.

The bill in question is Missouri SB1026 and it's sponsored by (surprise) 3 Democrats: Jamilah Nasheed; Shalonn Curls and Maria Chappelle-Nadal.

We have seen a LOT of stupid bills in our days but this one will go down as one of the dumbest things we have ever seen.

In a nutshell these three 'brilliant' Democrats want anyone that wants to buy a firearm to be given literature that includes graphic color images about the dangers of owning firearms 72 hours before they actually buy the gun. This literature BTW has to be handed out by firearm dealers.

And that's just the beginning of the stupidity. The firearm dealer must also have a private room where the purchaser can view video of victim impact statements. The potential buyer can then ask questions if they wish.

Once this mess is done the buyer must sign a form that states they have read the material and viewed video and understands the dangers. That form must then be given to the dealer where they buy the gun and the dealer must keep it along with the other forms they must fill out.

Seriously? What kind of an alternate universe are these MORONS living in?

Didn't either Kentucky of Tennessee pass something along these lines

Not in TN and I doubt any such bill would stand up to a court challenge since it makes a business responsible for the actions of a criminal that isn't an employee.

Well welcome to PA ... but you need to get used to the terminology here. We do not have concealed carry licenses, we have what's called a 'license to carry firearms' ... one of the reason the distinction matters is the fact that open carry is legal in the state (except in Philly where you MUST have a LTCF when open carrying) .... so calling is a concealed carry license is confusing.

Depending on where you live you can walk into the local sheriff's office and walk out with your LTCF in a matter of minutes (not all sheriff's operate like that though

This sounds to me like a deliberate attempt to mimic some of the various state abortion counseling laws, perhaps in an attempt to mock them.
