Well, crap.

To all our friends, fans, supporters and consumers of Charles Daly and by extension, KBI products, I regret to inform you that the rumors of our demise are true.

KBI is going out of business and closing its doors, effective today, January 29, 2010.

I don't want to go into each and every detail as to why this has occurred, except to say that there have been a multitude of events over the past five years that have contributed to our current situation.

For those of you with ongoing service requirements please be advised that we are currently negotiating with several companies that will be performing after-sale service of Charles Daly, CD Defense and Jericho firearms. As soon as we have finalized a contract with one of these companies we will post the name, address and contact details of that company on www.CharlesDalyForum.com, so you will know who to contact to obtain service on your KBI firearm.

Again, I wish to thank all of you that have supported our company, Charles Daly and all the other fine firearms that we have sold over the years.. This spells the end of KBI but I imagine it will certainly not mean the end of Charles Daly® and CD Defense™. Look for this excellent brand to resurface in the very near future.

Sincerely,
Michael B. Kassnar, President
K.B.I., Inc.

I've never owned a CD product but the fact that the President of K.B.I Inc would bother to post on this board and personally help resolve customer service issues speaks volumes to me. I am amazed that K.B.I. is going out of business. And I do hope to see the brand resurected. If it is I will certainly put a Charles Daly on my list of gotta haves

Michael, sorry to hear this about Charles Daley and KBI. I have a Charles Daley DDA pistol that I have had for years. It's a keeper. It has also been refreshing seeing you posting on the different forums in past. Best of luck in the future. Mark

I'm shocked and saddened to hear about this loss. I've never owned a Daly firearm, but did have the pleasure of ordering a thumb safety through their parts department (for an FEG Hi Power). I came pretty close to closing the deal on a 941 a couple of weeks ago. I guess I'll wait around and see who the next importer is so I can get a warranty.

I'm very curious about the series of events which led to the demise.

Sorry to revive a bit of a zombie thread here,

Since Charles Daly and KBI are closed up, is there anybody importing the Jericho 941 right now? I have been thinking about getting one soon but hearing this I feel a sense of urgency to get one. Does this mean that they will start to temporarily dry up and prices jump because of the closure?
