How often do you shoot your EDC?

Usually, I shoot my EDC once a week. There are times though that it will be once a month, Also I make sure that about a third of the rounds are shot left handed.

I usually carry a Ruger SR9. I put 100-200+ rounds through it a week, sometimes more if I can work another range trip or USPSA match in.

This is a great post because im in the same boat. My carry is a Sig P250 and I feel great shooting it but I have not shot it my last couple of times at the range. I am going to start making an effort to do so.

I shoot at least 2 clips through my duty sized weapon, and then a clip or two out of my backup. P32 gets about 25 rounds or so, pt145 get s a couple mags. Once a month, its 50 rnds thru the duty size, 25-50 through the backup

EDIT :

Clip?! please dont slap me...

After the initial training and familiarization with a pistol, or refamiliarization after geography and clime change, I try to put 100 round though it a month. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I have the advantage of owning some guns that I have some SERIOUS trigger time behind. For example, I own a Beretta M9A1, exact replica of the pistol I carried and trained with in the service. I shot over 40K rounds though that platform, and about 10k of them in a 5 day period. Training like that is what the military refers to as "saturation training." The idea is that you are totally inundated with training, that it instantly become reflexive. That is how the SEALs and many other elite forces train. It is the only realistic way to get training in on all the systems they use and still leave time to actually deploy. I have not run a Table 5 combat course in a while, but I can still draw and fire my M9A1 at a 15yd target with 3 COM shots in under 3sec. Not enough to go win any competitions, but enough to get me home at the end of the day.

I run two DC's I shoot them both 2X a month, 200 through the 9mm and 50 through the .380.

In terms of live fire, I do at least a once per month FOCUSED draw from leather, smooth presentation drill(s) involving 50-100 rounds at various "combat ranges". I practice various drills. to determine what I am satisfied with and what I feel could use additional improvement.

That's a minimum. Depends on weather and whatever else, but once/month at a minimum. Maybe more, occasionally a tad less. Why? Because my life may depend on it and I don't want to botch the job when the time comes. That's what I feel I can afford to commit to and what I feel meets the standard of good faith to my committment to myself.

This does not include dry fire drills. Dry fire is about once a week, and, again, these are FOCUSED and disciplined drills and not simply farting around. I like to practice for maybe 10 minutes/week for one session in this arena. About. Not including the occasional not quite fully disciplined farting around dry fire I do to practice trigger control, grip, stance, etc.

Finally, I try to get professional help about once a year thru a class of some sort to insure that I don't overrate where I think I may be in my proficiency.

I shoot my EDC at least every other trip to the range. Range trips happen every couple of weeks if weather permits; and by that I mean no snow. I shoot in the rain sometimes.

The EDC gets fired two-handed up close, far away, on the ground, from behind obstacles. Ditto with one-handed shooting. You have to learn to control the gun with either hand alone.

Usually hit the range at least once a week, and even when I'm mostly working the Cowboy gun, I get a minimum of 50 rounds down my M&P's pipe to keep myself from going into full "single action trigger" mindset again.

I go to the range about once every two weeks and I shoot it if I have ammo to spare, being in college does limit finances.

use it for IDPA shoots when it fits the scenario. so practice a box or so every other week. bore snake, some rem oil amid wipe it down. strip clean when it tells me to or when the seasons change. thats the p239/40. Bugs are lumped in with class/training guns and get used and cleaned regularly.

I edc a Glock 22 and i fire 1 or 2 mags each time i go into the woods, which has been every other week or so. When i begin carrying my CZ75b again in maybe a month ill probably do the same if not a few more mags each time. The CZ75 is just much more enjoyable to shoot, though i shoot both equally well.

Every time I go to the range.

Often I go with the intent to only shoot my EDC (today, forex) but equally often I go with the desire to shoot something else. Even then, though, I will shoot at least some from my EDC.

Probably 3-4 times a month. Whenever I need to clean her out anyway, dust etc, seems like a good excuse to fire if I'm gonna clean it anyway. It helps to have a dedicated home range on the property....but it's COLD in winter :banghead:
