AR15

Most annoying was a guy shooting a short barreled AR at the handgun range. That is one gawd awful high pitched CRACK.

As I walked up and down the firing line at Knob Creek, I was shocked at how much of the concussion of a .50BMG rifle I felt, even through doubled-up ear pro. I even felt it in my chest.

Loudest handgun you've ever fired

A Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt cut down to a snubby 2 inch barrel round butt with lanyard ring firing +P .45 Colt loads 260gr. jacketed at 1400fps.No .357 or .44mag comes even close!Tremendous muzzle blast and a fireball as big as a beachball.Definitely makes you shudder as you touch-off those rounds. No not my pistol, but a friends who also cut-down his extra Ruger Old Army percussion black powder revolver to the same 2 inch snub configuration.Has a blast I would describe more as a WaKaBoooom!! and a fireball like no other I have ever seen.He uses nothing but real black FFFg.Talk about big boomers, those 2 pistols above are something else!!!

S&W 500 in the shortest barrel they offer. I could feel the vibrations in the bottoms of my feet standing on dirt. With ear muffs and foam plugs I could hear the echo across the hills for two or three seconds. Ask me about muzzle filp.

Loudest I have been around was a 7.62mm mini gun.

Loudest I have shot was a Ruger Blackhawk in 30 Carbine.

I would have to say the .44 mag Ruger Blackhawk that my niece's dumbass boyfriend fired about a foot from my ear, and directly to my left, back in 1983. My ears rang for about a year (literally) after that. That incident is what probably kickstarted my tinitus. I never went shooting with that idiot again.

I was shooting pistols one afternoon when a guy takes the bench next to me with a Marlin Guide Gun in .45/70 with ported barrel. The muzzle was just behind the roof overhang of our shooting bench so the roof was deflecting both muzzle and port blast. It was so bad after 4 blasts I had a headache. Two more rounds and my teeth hurt. He still had 14 rounds to go, so I packed up and left.

Took two Advil and 4 hours for that headache to disappear.

I fired my AMAC .50 cal from the furthest bay to the right at a range without accounting for the block wall to my right... Good golly, miss molly! I thought double protection was enough - absolutely not!

Loudest gun I have experienced

I got to shoot a 458 Win Mag built for elephant hunter with 20" barrel. It was the loudest sporting gun I ever fired.
Being the weapons qualification officer in my unit, I shot many rounds thru all of our weapons. It probably was the 105mm recoiless rifle (tank weapon). You didn't want to be in front of, or behind this baby!
