I live in rural Illinois and we have Rural King stores and Big R stores near us. We also have Tractor Supply stores. The Rural King stores in our area sell firearms and ammunition. The Big R stores sell ammunition only - no firearms.

That's too bad. I like Big Rs firearms related layout a little more Rural King.
Dang.
Red circle is where I am...
I have gotten some fair deals with both places. But you're right, Rural King does keep most their prices down more.I think it looks nicer, but at least comparing the Rural King in Peru, IL and the Big R in Streator, IL (which are about equidistant from me), RK definitely has better prices. Big R probably had a better selection on hand but Rural King does have the RKGuns website which is pretty awesome so to me it's kind of a trade off. I kind of see Big R as a nicer looking RK that comes with a little premium on prices. Although, I guess its Stock and Field now, guess it's been awhile since I've been there.
The map seems to be out of date. There are over 20 in Ohio alone.Referencing the map, there are at least two Rural King stores in Ohio that I'm aware of (Wooster and Springfield). Hopefully, there are more that I don't know about.
Isn't there a North 40 near you? The ones around here have good deals from time to time.
Thats a shame. have been to about 3 different Big R stores in Illinois, they all had gun counters. Wonder why yours doesnt. Anyway Big R is no more, has been bought out by Stock & Field. So far havent noticed any difference.
Closest one to me was 71 miles in PA, staying in Oh it’s 74 miles, not an option for me.The map seems to be out of date. There are over 20 in Ohio alone.

I've been comparing Rural King to Tractor Supply, lately. RK won the last couple rounds, on price and selection.I live in rural Illinois and we have Rural King stores and Big R stores near us. We'll support them here. Maybe that will speed up their expansion out to your way.Sounds like a great store that I'd like. Unfortunately probably 750 miles to the nearest store.
