Mike,
To my thinking, you've really brought out the potential in this old 1860. It had the correct cylinder to bore ratio and was really accurate if I did my job. It was not the smooth as silk piece of machinery that it is now, thanks to your ministrations. The Walker cylinder is a perfect fit and if Bears or Sasquatches come knockin' in the middle of the night, that revolver will be there to 'meet and greet' ;o) Again, thanks to your hard work and magic touch with steel and brass.
regards!

Hello everyone, just wanted to say hi, I read a lot in this forum before buying my first black powder revolver, and I went for the Colt 1860 Army copy, what a beautiful piece of art! It's already so satisfying to only have it in my hands, can't wait to shoot it. Just a word to say you're a great community and that I learned a lot reading this forum!

Is it too late to join? My pair of Pietta 1860's.

My basic CAS/SASS set up with my 1851 Colt Navy "Marshal" and "Sheriff", both in .44. I really love these little buggers and plan to get a pair of full size as well, but I will stick with the .44 to keep my ammo purchases simple.

I have to reiterate: that is gorgeous wood! I think that the manufacturers put these out once in a while just to tease us buyers. Either that or the assemblers of the pistols just do it for grins.

This is the best I have and yours is so much better.

I am very jealous, sir.

Tell Goon to be very careful with the wood (I am sure he will!).

Yeah, I mail ordered the gun and just got lucky with the gorgeous grain on the factory stocks.

Would definitely have to agree with you on that! Congrats on the great looking Cimarron 1851 Navy!

May be a silly question but is that a Griswold barrel with a London or Dragoon trigger guard? Makes a mighty fetching piece!

My assumption was that it was meant as a Leech & Rigdon copy. But now that you mention it, I haven't seen one of those in a squareback.

It is a Pietta 1851 Navy .36 Squareback (2014 [CM] date code; last year of the "tail" grip profile) with a Pietta G&G barrel and plain cylinder. It is my fantasy 1851 Navy Dragoon. Thanks for the compliment, sir!

My Leech and Rigdon (also Pietta):

Very nice! I haven't got the stockpile of spare parts to do things like this with but I am working on it, LOL! Actually pick up a "new" 1851 Colt Navy "Sheriff" in stainless on the first, so I can have a pair of the 5.5" barreled ones in stainless. Love the look of them with the "engraving", they're some of my all time favorite pieces to shoot.

So, here is my pair of 1851 Colt Navies, the Marshal has the fluted cylinder, the Sheriff has the engraved cylinder;

And here is the beginning of my Avenging Angel from a brass framed 51 Navy;
