I carry my Agency issued Glock 22 .40 cal 40+ hours a week so on MY OWN time I normally carry at a MINIMUM my Glock 27 in .40 cal loaded with Agency Federal Tactical Bonded duty ammo. I use a Glock factory +2 mag in the weapon & carry minimum one extra Glock factory +2 mag with me. I sometimes will carry a Glock 22 mag loaded with me for additional ammo capacity. I carry an ASP brand kubotan style key chain on my personal key ring that has OC spray inside it in case the need for a less then leathal force option in called for. I carry a pair of lightweight handcuffs or often just a small pair of Thumbcuffs to satisfy need for restraints. Agency issued credentials and shield in my tri fold wallet....good to go!
Extra body armour in "POLICE" marked carrier in my personal vehicle with raid jacket, EMS bag, few loaded Glock 22 mags, and rechargable high intensity flashlight are in my vehicle handy but out of sight.
I carry a Spyderco Police knife or a Benchmade Armed Forces Only Automatic knife clipped to my pocket at all times.
I either carry on my person or have readily available in my vehicle a Surefire 6P flashlight. I can carry everything with realative ease even in a T-shirt and carpenter style jeans or cargo style shorts. Winter time with sweatshirts and jackets it is even EASIER.
Off-duty holsters I use for Glock 27 are Galco fletch, Galco or Desantis pocket holsters, Galco King Tuck, Kramer horsehide IWB, Blackhawk serpa paddle, or ankle holsters from Galco or Uncl Mike's.
As far as open carry goes...me personally....I only want the bad guys to know that I am armed and ready at the time & circumstance of MY choosing....
I will sometimes substitute my Glock 27 with Colt Combat Commander, Glock 23, Glock 30, Browning Hi Power, or Government model. I will carry my Glock 22 also at times while off-duty.
