What is you "Fun" gun choice?

Running my S&W 460 with .45 Colts. Finding someplace I can shoot my Barrett M107A1. Verifying zero on my Browning Hell's Canyon and retrieving a 100 yard target with one ragged hole. Every ping from emptying the clip in either of my M1 Garands. The way my Ed Brown Kobra Carry sits in my hand and never moves. Too many to list, but those came to mind immediately.

I thought it was my S&W MP 15-22. Until I bought a Ruger 10-22 Charger, added an SB-mini folding brace and a Franklin Binary trigger. Now that's fun with a capital F.
Lol I want to get a Franklin Armory trigger for dads 10/22 takedown so bad. I have a SilencerCo Sparrow that I could use on it and I bet it would be hilariously fun.

This CZ455 Scout. It now sits in a Rustic Trainer stock, wears a swap meet Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20 scope in Warne QD rings so I can quickly swap to the sights, and has a sweet DIY trigger spring job including YoDave shims. It rings the siluetas offhand all day long with CCI SV. So fun, this less expensive 22LR compact rifle always puts a smile on my face.

My CZ 457 pro varmint with my SilencerCo Sparrow is stupid fun to just plink a bunch of 40gr CCI standard velocity ammo! Quiet as a pellet rifle! So you can shoot it without ear protection and actually have a conversation with your dad and friends while shooting it.

Ok I'll add a meaningful post to this thread finally...
My 1944 Springfield Armory M1 Garand in 30-06! It's such a blast to just dump a few clips as rapidly as possible and shout "Take This, Nazi Scum!" whilst doing said clip dumps. Fills me with a sense of patriotism lol. Also whenever I watch Band of Brothers I have my M1 out the whole time, unloaded of course, lol.

Like jmr40 said, most of my top fun guns would probably be .22 LR, but here's one that isn't. I love to find any excuse to get it out and shoot, most commonly clay targets.

If the setting is right, these are two of my most fun .22 LR rifles because they are a joy to operate and shoot with their slick actions and excellent trigger (aftermarket trigger on the 52B), they are super accurate, and the long barrels are very quiet with SV target ammo. No ear protection needed, which at least doubles the enjoyment when shooting on a private location without other shooters around.

PTR-91, clone of the German HK-91 ("G3" NATO). 980 rounds so far, since bought nib, zero issue. The gun was nib in May 2022.

My "Classic GI" (depicted here) has no rail, whereas the "GIR" has the same 18" barrel plus the factory rail. "R" = rail.

These certainly don't have the better ergos of an FAL or AR,, but they do have Character--and even the women in military branches of Europe (Germany, Nor., Sw., Lith., Port.) etc were able to deal with the awkward ergos of G3 rifles. European Women probably complain less about them than American men.

My fun gun choice would be my Romanian M69 .22lr. It looks crude, cost me 69 dollars and is cheap to shoot. I like shooting pieces of clay pigeons at 100 yards and my record is 200 yards open sight. I guess where the reat sight should line up on the barrel and put my front sights under the target (unless there's wind). If I could go hiking, I'd take that and shoot at every elevation and distance I can find.

I recently ran into a very frustrating financial situation that meant I had to (and may have to some more) liquidate some of my gun collection to keep my house. I had a hard time selling some of those that left due to the sheer enjoyment they bring me to shoot and handle. But the last one I'd ever sell is my cz527 in 7.62x39. it is just gorgeous, handles like a dream, and it's accuracy is almost unbelievable. It brings me joy every time I pick it up, more than I thought any single physical thing could do. That's not my only fun gun, but for me, that gun is the "funnest". 20160314_142438.jpg

My current grab for a walk in the woods favorite is my SA22. It’s small and light and you can grab around the scope and receiver for quick carry.
I agree the little SA-22 is a fun gun. I like the slightly darker wood on yours. My 1970 model has very light walnut, and it'd "bothered" me for years -- just too butterscotch-looking in person to suit me. I'm currently in the process of refinishing the stock and forearm using some Alkanet root dye to darken it and help bring out the grain feature. We'll see how it turns out, but I think I'll like it better.
Originally it looked like the forearm in this photo (the stock is catching light differently here and looks darker to the camera than in person):
