What kind of guns do the bad guys carry?

Another way of looking at these kinds of numbers is that they only represent a tiny fraction of what’s actually “on the street” at any given moment... Illegal weapons are also a form of currency on the street with dopers and other bad actors trading guns for drugs and other needs (and vice versa). As a result one gun in the street can pass through other hands (and possibly get used by more than one BG before finally getting picked up by police).

'Cause this time the laws will be made betterer and we'll convince these misguided people that what they're doing isn't right. That'll fix everything. Kumbayah!

Because actually effecting change, and what it would take on an economic, societal and cultural level is too hard.

Passing more laws makes the gullible think you are actually doing something.

So out of curiosity and shear boredom over our holiday shutdown I threw together a spreadsheet of all the firearms you listed here.

I've attached it if anyone else is curious but here are the highlights. 795 total firearms, 104 .380 Auto, 409 9mm Luger, 160 .40 S&W, 64 .45 Auto, 24 7.62x39, 22 5.56/223, 5 10mm, 1 9mm MAK, 2 300 BLK, 1 30 Carbine, 2 5.7x28, and 1 7.62x25.

Now the guns I listed are the ones that I fired. I have a partner that helps my now and she did fire some guns during the year that didn’t make the list.
We just finished up our year end report and here are the numbers.
Criminal Cases Worked: 1864
Evidence Cartridge Cases entered: 1356
Guns test fired and entered: 885
Total number of shootings matched up: 306
