I think there will be repercussions after this crisis ebbs. With the way the internets work, a lot of the regular bread and butter customers know who was naughty or nice.

A certain company called CTD... Would not accept free ammo from them now. I couldn't trust it.

Companies like AIM Surplus, to name just one, they have a loyal friend for life.

Posts: 153 Everyone of us should remember when and where the dealers are that take advantage of their regular customers. I know I will remember and tell other people. Profit is profit but some are way out of line.

In total agreement with you bro... I'll remember now for later and I will tell others.......

About the ammo that is easily and reasonably available is Mak ammo - both SB and BB in either HP or FMJ flavours. I'm seriously thinking of putting my 9's and .38's into the gunsafe (where they can gather dust with my .357's and .45's) and just keeping my Cheetah and Bulgy Mak out.

At least I can get enough ammo to to keep in practice with my Mak. In fact, if I have an unsuccessful trip to Academy this Thurs looking for 9/.38 ammo then i'm gonna order a case of Mak ammo.

Which if I'm careful might last me three weeks haha!

My view is if a dealer wants to live by Gunbroker then he can die by Gunbroker. I have much better deals from shops that understand the regional trends or pawn shops that know what they need to get out of an item to make them happy. FTF and gunshows are hit and miss depending on what either party has a want for.
On Wed. the free want adds come out and there will be DPMS M4s for $1200.00 - $1800.00 and I can go to my local shop and buy new for a little over $900. out the door.
Wake up and pay attention, some of these scalpers are fixen to get a screwin.

Tokarev is what you want to be shooting now.

1,224 rounds for 130 dollars. It doesn't get any better than that.

Everybody before you slam ammunitiontogo for 9mm prices listen to my story....

A few weeks ago they put S&B 7mm Mauser on sale for $9.95 a box, which normally it goes for around $16.I bought 500 rounds. The next day I found out that my card company put a freeze on my card because it had been compromised, someone was using my card number.By the time I could contact ammunitiontogo they sent me a email saying my purchase had bounced.

Live on the phone I told them I would send a MO and they said they would hold the order. After a week I called them to ckeck on it and they said they hadn't received the MO but to let a few days go more and see.Five days latter I called them again and they said they still hadn't recieved the MO but to let a couple more days go even though at that point I received a new card and offered to charge the order.Day after that they received the MO and sent out my order.

They could have cancelled my order and sold it to someone else, they could have charged it to my new card but they stayed in contact with me and held my order despite that they could have gotten the money now or sold to someone else.

They are good people.I have ordered alot from them and never had a issue. The price for 9mm is too much but in their case their history of great service and selection will keep me a loyal customer,I just won't be buying 9mm or any other caliber jacked up that high.

Im still wondering why oddball calibers are becoming hard to find now though........

That doesn't change the fact they are selling the EXACT asmmo I CAN purchase at Walmart (yes, the local one has it in stock) for 3x the price. I'm sorry, but when any retailer tries to get away with charging 3x as much as another source, that source is no longer a credible supplier to me. A good deal here and there doens't change the fact that some of the prices are highway robbery. When I can buy 300 rounds for less than 100 from ammuntiontogo, it doesn't take a genius to see who is going to get my business. This isn't for similiar loadings or anything...this is for the EXACT SAME AMMO....WWB, 115 GR fmj BULK PACKS.

Davek Im not defending the price they are selling 9mm for,but then again other calibers they have are less expensive than some other dealers. And last I checked Wallyworld or Bassproshop don't carry Prvi Partizan ammo or surplus ammo.So for some of my guns Wallyworld isn't a option, but I do get to shoot some of my oddball calibers while AR and Glock owners are just holding their gun while watching the movie Heat.......

Just bought 10 boxes of Rem 7.62x39 at Bass Pro for 13.99 a box. They had plenty on the shelf. Pistol ammo was just about non existant.

What we need is a vending machine that sells ammo and targets.

Install that bad boy at all the ranges and clubs, then rake in the cash (well, until somebody shoots your lock off and takes all the money and product).

Re: Dealer Burning Bridges

You may think of it as gouging, but in reality the business owner. Which is what the gun shop owner is thinks of it as a raise. If you replace the word 'profit' with the word 'salary' in the following formula you may understand it more.

Retail price - expenses (taxes, rent, cost of goods sold, etc) = profit/salary

Now to be intelligent you have to balance your salary against the long term pricing yourself out of a job (as many unions are doing/have done), but profit is not evil, it's merely the business owners salary, and like any other worker he's entitled to all he can make his employers (read customers) pay him.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't agree with taking advantage of a situation to the point of losing customers, but I guarantee you that if half the apartments in my town burn down or become otherwise unoccupiable I'll be raising my rents to match the new supply level, and enjoying the raise.

Probably spending on it on guns and ammo as a matter of fact. Heck see the list below for the current tops on my wish list.:):):) Let me know if you want to sell or trade - I MIGHT!

E. TN Gander Mountain in Turkey Creek actually had a good supply of mid to high (PD) revolver ammunition on hand. They had about 50 boxes of .40 Lawman.
I think, but don't quote me, they may have had :what: some .380
Some reloading brass, not much in handgun, some bullets. Slightly encouraging on the reloading front.

I stopeed at two WalMarts. One had two boxes of bulk pack .223, no .22. no handgun.

WalMart in Turkey Creek had ZERO and the guy running the scanner to restock showed me the screen....none in the warehouse. The cupboards are bare.

My LGS in Lenoir City pretty much has a bit of everything. Albeit pricey, but what the hey, PD is PD who cares about how much. He even had some .38 ball for range work.

Uh-oh... Walmart

I heard from friends that Walmart is planning to raise ammo prices, after having kept them steady since pre-O-ban-ma days. I sure hope that's not the case! Anyone else catch wind of this rumor?

Our WalMart is currently 20% higher than Pre-November 2008.
They recently got a bunch of centerfire rifle ammo, but no pistol (nor .22 rimfire).
Shotshells have never been affected. I wonder why?

It's funny to hear someone say that soon prices will rise above Pre-Obama levels. They already are!
