Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Just orderd 300 rounds reduced recoil 38 Special ammo from Cavalry Ammunition, a site someone mentioned in another thread.

I contacted the company and found out they "are based in Virginia, and are a combat veteran-owned company." I plan to do more business with them in the future. They also said the reduced recoil ammo does well in the lightweight S&W revolvers. I should be able to put 1000s of rounds though my 642 now and not worry about wearing it out so quickly.

20220305_161822.jpg First gun today as a gun owner. Was mostly old hardware which I wanted. Just ended up getting a bunch of ammo. Realized when I got home I over paid for the Garand ammo or moreso the seller can't count. Had bandoliers out marked 80rds for $80. I got home and it was only 48 rounds. Assuming they thought it was 10 clips bit it was 6 clips. My fault as well. Did get some Wolf steel Makarov for $10 a box at least. Plus some weird package of 8mm Mauser Yugo made and a 3913 magazine

A bunch of full capacity magazines as my stupid state just banned them. I suspect I’ll be posting similar purchases right up to the ban implementation.

Well, this is more like “what did you buy in the last week”.
I was recently granted my concealed carry permit. consider myself pretty lucky seeing I live in Central NY.
So I’ve recently been preparing for my carry gun by researching, handling a few models, and beginning to purchase the necessities.
I decided to get the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield Plus, 9mm, night sights and optics ready. (More on this in a moment)
I’ve purchased some ammunition, a holster, gun safe, cleaning kit and some supplies that will assist in making cleaning a bit easier as I’ve only got rifle sized stuff for cleaning.
I went to pick up my firearm yesterday and did the NY paperwork things with my gun shop guy.
Now being that this is my first hand gun I did not realize that in NY you have to send in the paperwork for the gun, and your permit, to the Sheriffs office with a self addressed stamped envelope.
So, I have to put that in the mail, because you can’t go down there because of Covid, and wait for however long it will take for them to put my pistol on my permit and then send it back to me….
Boy! I love NY!

Watch what ammo you fire through your Garand, the maximum pressure on the M1 Garand is 50,000 PSI.
I reload my own ammo so I keep it below the maximum pressure.
They really go high in price. I bought a Springfield forty years ago for $350.

Mine was built in 1942.

As far as buying anything gun related I bought 1,600 pounds of scrap lead on Tuesday and another 700 pounds on Saturday.
I got about a 1/3 of it processed into ingots to resell.
I will package up five - 70 pound flat rate boxes today and get them in the mail.

Well that could have gone much better. Typical Garand ammunition bandoliers have 6 pouches and each pouch holds one 8 round En Bloc clip so yes, 48 rounds. Learning curve at work and you won't make that mistake again.

Glock 19 gen 5 MOS with Hollow sun 509C. If you are stuck looking for an RMR holster that is owb and leather, Urban Carry holsters and belts has a great Glock holster they lock in place by grabbing the trigger guard, gun snaps in, the best on I found in 30 yrs. of Glocking.
 
I keep saying I'm not going to buy anything gun related in 2022 because I have spent way too much in the past couple years. "Especially Ammo" till the prices return to reasonable.
BUT, I walked into Dunhams today. The Dunhams near me carries a ton of firearms and ammo. "When they can get ammo".
They make most of the gun shops near me look Empty,
I walk down the handgun case saying " I want one of those". "I want one of those". "I want one of those",
Then I walk along the rifle/shotgun cases on the walls. Saying "I want one of those". " I want one of those", " I want one of those".
I did manage to walk out of there empty handed.
Well, I did pick up a couple boxes of CCI 22lr hollow point. Well, I didn't have any.
No more spending on gun related this year.
Well----------?

A bunch of stuff to assemble my second AR.
Finished upper; I don't have a good bench to apply torque there, and the lower doesn't need that as bad.

Also, my first batch of Duracoat. About time I used my airbrush.
 
The latest Midway USA order arrived today. Ordered it about a week ago, was tracking the package online and it arrived on the day it was scheduled for. Just a Butler Creek scope cover for the eye piece end of my Leupold 1-4x slug gun scope and 2 P-Mag ten round magazines for the Glock 19 and now also for the Ruger PC Carbine since I put the Glock mag well in it.....
