Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Sent my BHP slide off to Novak’s for new sights. I’ve been wanting this for a long time!
The front blade sight and tiny notch rear just don’t do it for me anymore.
Update!

I am more than pleased! 8 days from my door to Novak’s and back to me is great.

I think the upgrade was worth the expense (and I was apprehensive).

The dovetails look really good, and it looks like Novak’s re-blued my entire slide— at least it seems that way.

2 minor points,

I had to finish fitting the firing pin stop— it has to have a flat on the top curve where it meets the rear sight. It needed a bit more stoning to eliminate interference with the frame when cycling, and to line up properly with the firing pin.

The old staked front sight hole had been filled with a weld before the front dovetail was cut— and the weld was a little proud inside the barrel bushing. I covered the top of the barrel with sharpie and verified the drag points and then addressed the high spots with a dremel (tiny sanding drum) and then buffed it with a felt bullet and polishing compound. It’s a tight fit, but I think it will wear in now.

The two issues I adjusted were unavoidable since I only sent the slide to Novak’s (as instructed). Fortunately, I enjoy doing this stuff and have the proper tools.

I can’t imagine a better outcome!
Range time will be fun next week…

I got offered an MVA mid-range Soule tang sight to fit my old Remington Hepburn, plus a Shaver spirit level globe front sight from a friend. Price was great on both, so bought them.
Then later the same day another friend called and asked if i was still looking for an obsolete Ideal Doc Hudson .32-40 mold as he had one to sell! Been trying to buy one for decades, and his price was very fair too, so got it! Like Christmas in April!

Just made a 2 fer gun purchase. Guy had a Marlin Ballard Pacific from around 1885 he wanted to sell, and mentioned he had a muzzleloading shotgun also with Damascus barrels. The shotgun didn't interest me until he sent pictures of it and I saw "C. GOVE" on both locks, and "CARLOS GOVE DENVER, COL." on the top rib. Carlos Gove was the largest gun dealer West of the Mississippi in the late 1800's and I wanted it just because it was sold by his shop. So I bought both and they should be here late this week!
