Got a question.... I'm not knocking people who sporterize their old mil-sup guns, but WHY do you do it? After one goes through the trouble to change the stock, add a scope, maybe change the barrel, etc... you are left with a gun that, I assume, is still not as good (accurate) as a modern hunting rifle.
Are those aftermarket bolt handles? Very nice rifles.Maybe you do not understand that there are opinions other than yours.
Valnar - the 'cheap corrosive stuff' is all there really is. Beware of companies/people selling 'non-corrosive' ammo as I don't believe any really exists (that is/was mass produced)
The partizan IMHO is the best stuff.....and when looking at other center fire ammo is not that expensive.Prvi Partisan is non-corrosive and has reloadable brass cases. It's excellent stuff, very accurate. Yes, it's more expensive (about $13-15 per box online). I bought 200 rounds and reloaded the brass when I shot it all up. It may not be worth it for the average 91/30 but it's great in my M39. Mine likes the 180 grain, but I've never tried the 150 in it.
The ATI forward mount of the D&T receiver mount? For the love of god, don't get an ATI mount. The bolt mod is horrible, and unless you have a competent gunsmith, the scope mount will rip itself off of the receiver from the recoil.
They work, are are the exact same as the ATI rear sight replacements as far as looks. Be very liberal with Lock Tite on the installation screws. I used Red lock tite on mine, doesn't budge. Without the lock tite, the recoil will loosen the entire assembly in a few shots.cheapest place to get the scope rail that takes place of rear sight?

does this rail work?
