I fail to see why leo’s be concerned. This was a extreme case that based on my limited knowledge of the case was a more than justified guilty verdict.

As you correctly state civil lawsuits are another matter.

The Officer may have been working for the wrong department. In Wichita, Kansas the department and D.A. backs Officers that shoot and kill unarmed, nonviolent homeowners standing in the doorway of their own home.

I suppose the American Flag logo on my AR’s could be used to portray me as a right wing politicial extremist.

I don't have any on anybody mine yet. Forever ago, though, I was looking at getting this custom trigger guard for my AR. It's something my dad (who was a minister) said to me when he when he was in hospice before he passed from pancreatic cancer. I went as far as getting it mocked up but life got in the way and I never ordered it.

This came up later. I traded into a couple rifles for something or other. One of the ones I now own is a Springfield 03 action, rebarreled to .458 Winchester mangle-numb. it has limited collector value but serious using value under the right circumstances. (Not needed for deer much.) I call it my Vorpal rifle.

For those who do not understand, look up (on the internet) the poem called "Jabberwocky". Read it.

Can anybody recommend how to go about having letters or a word engraved on steel? I can see a lot of the inscriptions photographed in this thread are laser etched, printed, or machine engraved on aluminum. Some are roll stamps on steel. For a one-off customization, it seems to me the proper method would be to hand engrave on steel and possibly fill the lettering afterwards. I've seen wonderful examples, but they're always by some guy who has a 2 or 3 year backlog and will retire before finishing my gun, which, frankly, I really don't want to part with for more than a couple weeks, certainly not six months.

When someone brings up the topic of "reasonable gun control" I ALWAYS ask "What will that do to stop criminals from committing crimes?" and that basically ends any thing they may come up with.

"Freedom is not free" is one saying, but "Freedom is not safe" is a better description. I'd put that on a rifle if I wanted a motto or such on one...

From the maker:

"Police Service Six".

Was my dad's gun, carried during a stint as a rural Colorado deputy, around the same time I was on the job here in Florida. We weren't in touch back then.

Tomorrow (19 December) is the ninth anniversary of his death. I'll probably carry it (if it's cool enough for appropriate cover garment; if not, I'll carry his little '66 Undercover.)

I am not a fan of personal messages on my guns. I don't have an opinion about others putting message on theirs. It is just not my thing. No bumper stickers on the cars either.
