THE RULES

You will fire 10 shots onto the approved target set at the intended range of 10 yards. Scoring will be scored by adding up the score for all 10 shots. A shot on a line counts as the next numbering up. For instance if a shot is on the line separating the 7 and 8 the score is a 8. A X counts as 10 points.

The target used will be a B-3 50 foot rapid fire target although the match is slow fire. You can download the target and make copies at this link although you can download else where if you want however I downloaded it on a standard printer paper 8.5 x 11 inch paper, see example photo attached at bottom the target from end to end came out at 7 3/4 inches which is slightly smaller than standard targets that are bought or ordered. You may use any color target or put a sticker in the center X circle if you want as long as it fits correct.

Firearm must be held one or two handed, no rests, no benching

Pocket pistol or concealed carry definition will be as the wikipedia definition either semi-auto or revolver, firearms such as Makarov, Colt Officers model, Glock compact or any similar handgun is allowed. Handguns such as Colt Commander or Glock 19 or other such similar sub-compact handguns that typically have barrel length of 4 inches or more are not allowed, for this challenge they are considered service pistols not pocket pistols or concealed carry pistols.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocket_pistol

.22 caliber is not allowed, this is a center fire cartridge challenge. Calibers .25 to .45 are allowed.

Optics or red dot/lasers are not allowed. only iron sights are allowed , adjustable iron sights are allowed.

Please include with the target submission

username
score
firearm
ammunition
date

then take a pic of it and post it here, if you would post a pic of the firearm used as well.

You may submit as many targets as you wish provided it was shot with a different firearm. One target submission per firearm is allowed.

The cutoff date for submissions is March 31st 2019, being toward the later part of January this gives even extra time to submit or get prepared.

Please please submit targets even if you don't think they'll win as the information on how well what shoots may be valuable to other members

Good luck and good shooting:)

Any questions such as how to post pics or qualifying firearms please feel free to ask.
Moderators can we get a sticky on this.

Okay, so the general contractor closed the jobsite today because there was snow in the forecast. Of course we didn't see any snow. My oldest girl wanted to go shoot so I thought I'd give this a try. In my defense I haven't shot or carried this pistol in over a year. I prefer larger guns. If I get a chance I'll try shoot it again before the challenge ends The little Kahr & I could use the practice. I did fire 10 rounds through it before I shot the target to try to get the cobwebs out. I much prefer carrying/shooting my M&P 2.0 40 compact.

I like the challenge! Now all I have to do is find time to get to the range!

I had said one target per gun but I'm changing that to two targets per gun allowed , so you can have one more try and you can enter as many guns that qualify up to two times each. No more changes will be made to the rules after this. Glad you brought out the Kahr

Would a smith model 10 snub count or does it need to be a J frame?

I looked it up doesn't look any bigger than a Makarov or Colt Officers based on pics so yes being it's a snub nose it is allowed as it looks like a decent sized but not too big CC/ pocket gun.

Sorry Lionking, I missed that part. I am waiting to see what others do. I'm pretty sure someone will tear out the black in that target & show me how it's done.

Nice job 1K with a variety of guns .

I went shooting today, but logged on after I came back ...rats!

I’ll print up some targets and head back either next Friday or the one after.

How much larger/smaller are B-3 than B-16, the 25 yd slow fire pistol targets? I have about 85 of those laying about that I could use if they’ll score the same.

Stay safe!

Gotta stick with the B-3 for this challenge to keep things uniform as much as possible and minimize advantages or disadvantages. When I printed out a test B3 target from the site link and compared it to a bought one the printed one comes out very slightly smaller. As you can see with some of 1k targets multiple hits close together can become difficult to count up which is why I chose the rapid fire target compared to the smaller ringed slow fire target.

Don't worry I have more challenges coming that will give you a chance to use the 25 yd slow fire ones.

Nice job 1K , I personally am exempting myself from the contest just wouldn't seem right IF I won to claim " and the winner is....me!" But I may post my targets after the fact for the sake .

There's not a Cadillac up for grabs is there? Post yours up. Nobody will care. :)

Dunno about B16 but the B-3s I downloaded and printed ended up with a 3 inch bull.

ok will do, I have a CZ 50 I'd like to test on these targets. You keep buying all those nice handguns you are gonna have to change your handle to 10K lol.

My wife has an old Taurus model 85 I have never shot. I may see if she will let me borrow it for my next range trip & see if I can give this a try with it. Good clean fun.

I dunno it's almost exactly the same size as a Glock 19 but a tad thinner so I'd probably not count that one. Note that the one in your link is the new P225A1, which has a longer grip still.
