Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Made 2 orders, 6.5 Grendel brass 6.5 Arisaka brass, 6.5 Grendel Lee FCD and Hornady 224 62gr sp bullets from Grafs, then I looked at Midway and ordered over $100 worth of 6.5 Sierra bullets for the rebate, AR springs, 4" steel target and Lee trim die. I don't think my wife will be happy with me:) since I just received an Anderson ss LPK from Durkin Tactical and antiwalk pins that I wanted to try out. Anderson LPK kit was nice but the springs are STRONG, after polishing the trigger it is still hard.

I have been extremely good this two week pay period, not a single thing. Will pay off the credit card again this Friday, and start another new month (cycle) with a clean slate. Still deciding which annealer to get.

I have been wanting Yildiz SxS 410 for a while. Most local Academy stores were sold out of this model. I have been watching a couple of sportsman's classified in my area and Monday morning the exact gun I wanted was advertised. it is like new in box the owner said he had shot about 2 boxes of shells threw it.

Needless to say I made arrangements and purchased for $450. they retail for $480 with 10% taxes here. so i saved about $80 over a new gun.

The gun is in perfect condition with box and all 5 choke tubes. I shot it yesterday about 25 times and it function flawlessly. the furniture quality is extremely nice for a low end double. It appears that Yildiz is a lot of gun for the money!!

I plan to target shoot with it as I can reload 2.5 in 410 shells very reasonably!

Happy camper,

Bull

@Walkalong, I liked the Annealeez; it's gotten better with recent improvements and is no doubt the best bang for the buck. But after springing for an AMP Mark II (spendy) I have no regrets. While you have to handle each piece of brass, there is no open flame, setup is a snap, and consistency is outstanding as far as I can tell.

Edit: I bought mine on sale from Brownell's, who now show it as discontinued; guess that just means they don't still sell it. Looks like AMP is selling direct in the USA now. I paid significantly less than the $1,395 list price.

Wilson mags for my .45 ‘cause the mag, (that’s singular, thanx Colt), that came with my brand new 1911 .45, doesn’t lock the slide back upon firing the last round.

I used theCurtis Custom action wrench for the first time yesterday. Put Jeff's pre-fit 6GT barrel on his Curtis action. Forgot to take a pic of the job. Sigh. I do have one of the wrench. Used 90 Ft Lbs

Been a busy week. Ordered a Wilson EDC X9, 4 additional spare mags (clearance on Midway), holster from PJ Holster.

Probably add the orange tritium front site for it next week.

Then I'm done for the year, apart from ammo.
After you've shot it a bit please give us a detailed review and opinions. The EDC X9 is a gun that really interests me. I've heard good things. I've also heard one thing that gives me pause, aside from the price.

I have to admit. It feels weird not buying any reloading components for a few weeks now. Typically I pick up a brick of primers or a pound of powder about every two weeks. I've been buying knives lately, so I haven't really been buying gun stuff.

Honestly I don't know if I'll be buying any guns this year. Funds are a bit more limited.

Hope to shoot it tomorrow. Early dry fire results are very good using the iTarget laser bullet system.

I won't get a chance to really run it on some good drills and compare speed for a while yet, my range is pretty buried in a lot of snow, so basic slow fire and bill drills and the like are about all I can manage until spring.

Hi...
Put a blued and case hardened Virginian Dragoon in .44Mag on layaway at a local gun shop. 7-1/2" barrel.
Don't really need it...already have four other .44Mag revolvers including a 7-1/2" stainless Virginian Dragoon, but then when did need ever matter???

Placed alongside the Uberti Remington 1875 clone in .45Colt that I bought a couple of weeks ago, I would say that 2020 is off to a rousing start gun wise.

Hi...
Went to a gun auction with my son today.
Got a couple of things that seemed like decent deals.
Won a bid on a Midway tumbler...paid $36.
This is the large size tumbler. No longer listed on their website.
Won a bid on a RCBS APS primer strip loader. Looks brand new...gave $21. They list for around $30. I bought it as a backup to the one I already have that is used several days each week.
Also bought some fired brass in .243(49 pieces) and .303British(90pieces) for $6.

My son bought a bunch of .308 and .223 brass and around 700 bullets in.40cal for loading .40S&W and 10mm. I think he paid between $65-70 for what he bought.

All in all a pretty good day at auction.

Just ordered 2 twenty round mags and 1 thirty round mag for my Kahr Arms semi-auto M-1A Thompson. They go for $70.00 apiece regardless of capacity, so I hope I never need more!!!:uhoh:

Was at TSC the other day and spotted a couple plastic ammo cans in a "Clearance" basket so picked them up. Ordered some primer pocket reamers and cleaners from Midway today.
It's the little things... ;)
