I carry my SW Valor 5" 10mm all day every
day (concealed) in a IWB pancake holster,
on a 3/16" thick 1 1/2" wide leather belt -
comfortable, unseen and ready to go.

Inconvenient and painful can be two very different things. Inconvenient to me means having to disarm and secure my edc when going to a prohibitive location, like a post office, or place of employment.
Pain can be addressed, usually, by finding the right gun and carry gear.

And for me, are "two very different things." See my post (#14 in this thread) about the difference(s) between "inconvenient" and "painful" when it comes to carrying.;)
As I mentioned in my post, I sometimes forget I'm carrying. That's how "painful" carrying is for me - not at all. But it's definitely "inconvenient" when I have to secure my gun in my vehicle when I go to the post office, the courthouse, the Social Security office, or any other place where carrying is illegal for me.

It is rather inconvenient for me to carry every day. It usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to get ready to leave the house on errands. Little of that is gun related but typical stuff like making sure the dogs have water and know where their chew toys are. I have back problems so on days when carrying a large firearm would cause discomfort I will carry a single stack. Also taking into account distance from home and weather. Wearing a 35oz pistol + spare ammo isn't much fun when the heat index is 90 or more.

But pain? No. Carrying doesn't cause me any. Good holster and good belt make the difference.

It depends. In Florida for most of the year, it can be challenging due to the way we dress for the weather most of the time. This means that hiding a hunk of metal while having a small amount of cloth to hide it behind can be a pain. Which usually brings us into the realm of smaller, lighter handguns, and the tactical/ballistic disadvantages that come with them, and the arguments that inevitably ensue.

When I lived in S. Florida, I carried my stainless Colt lightweight
Defender .45 acp, and it was quite user friendly....

I don't know about your situation, but I am a pretty small person at 5'6" and 170. Most of the time, my lifestyle dictates cargo shorts or jeans and a t shirt. I'm not saying its impossible for me to carry a medium or larger handgun, its just a challenge.

I have carried for years, mainly a gen 3 Glock 17L with a TLR-1HL IWB but lately as my back disintegrates more and more there is more noticeable pain and I don’t like pain meds, so I still carry, it is just more noticeable as the day goes on. Some days I’ll carry a Springfield Range Officer 9mm 5” IWB and it is slightly more painful at the end of the day, but also more comforting as I shoot it so much better. I’m thinking about maybe suspenders or a shoulder holster, but my neck and shoulders aren’t any better than my back.

I carry a j frame or equivalent most times in a pocket it's almost a non issue to carry when I do carry something larger it can be very comfortable for hours on end, I once fell asleep with a 3 inch 29 mag in a shoulder holster during a fishing trip not my best thinking at the time...

I have almost zero problems or inconvenience carrying most any handgun up to 18 hours a day. In another thread, a post was made about the inconvenience of carrying everywhere (legally) and everyday. I didn’t realize some people had problems or pain from carrying so I thought I’d get some poll numbers to see how others felt.
I have been legally carrying a sidearm openly or concealed for the last 38 years, and I learned real quickly that a good holster and good belt are the key. With those two requirements met, I can carry a full size pistol all day long with no issues. Of course, I "dress around" the sidearm, because I don't worry about looking sloppy with baggy t-shirts. :)
