Try before you buy. I bought a Woodsrunner but wish I'd saved my money. I found the flintlock to be more novelty than practical or useful. Never again.

They don’t make big enough tubes for me. Is 54 cal really as big as they go for rifles?

The Fowler is close but a 10 ga would have probably found my money.

They go 58, a 10ga you would have to pretty much make a whole new gun,

.58 for the Colonial, .54 for the Woodsrunner.

I found the flintlock to be more novelty than practical or useful. Never again.

The flintlock requires a crazy-high level of attention to detail...which is why us OCD people love them. For sure, for some or many, I'd not recommend the flintlock.

They are however, 100% reliable, which is as practical as a percussion lock, or a .30-30 for that matter.

Did you use Pyrodex? That'd be enough to turn anybody off a flintlock. You need real BP.

Oh look! My spark plug wires would look better routed that way, than this. I must re-route them!! I think the brake pedal on my UL would look better if it was one inch shorter. Don't have AD...but I'm gonna spend two hours cutting it with a hacksaw, filing, and welding it back together. Then painting it. Oh look...it looks about the same! The struggle is real.

Did you use Pyrodex? That'd be enough to turn anybody off a flintlock. You need real BP.

Yes, Pyrodex in a flintlock is neither useful or practical. Or functional.
