Thank you for all the great gun pictures. For some reason, I suddenly want a revolver! All my current handguns are autoloaders. In fact, I never owned a revolver, although the first firearm I shot was a (borrowed) revolver.

What I found I liked (and I've been through all 33 pages of pictures 5 times!) are full-lugged barrels about 3-4 inches long in Stainless- with Black a close second. Odd, huh?

For some really odd reason the .44 mags look best to me.

I guess that esthetics is really personal and emotions rather than reason is guiding me.

Something to remember at the gun store.

S&W 586-5 *Special*

I expect that this was a distributor special. At least the label on the plastic case says *Special*. The previous owner changed the grips, putting on some nicely worn S&W round butt wood grips. I'm not sure which grips came with the gun originally from the factory.

1962-vintage Colt Police Positive Special

My favorite gun shop usually has a nice selection of used guns. But the trick for me is that I have to drop by often to grab the really nifty ones since they sell so quickly. Here is one I picked up a few weeks ago. And other than a few small handling marks it almost appears to never have been fired, though it is 47 years old (age according to http://proofhouse.com/colt/index.html )
*** Be sure to let me know if you like the detail photos or if you think they are a waste of bandwidth. I like to shoot the detail, but if it is inapropriate then I'll skip posting it here in the future ***

I'll add one, just for kicks. I have a number of revolvers (heh) but, for some reason, this particular pic of one of my knock-arounds just appeals to me!

45 colt 255g slug @ 930fps avg, not the problem i suppose since the first 1600 or so didnt do this lol, im blaming in on a loose primer pocket allowing another primer to back out under recoil and set two shells off at the same time.:)

Plinker Craig:

That is a fabulous looking Colt. If it has a glassy smooth double action pull (like most of the old Colts in that time era), it is an absolutely incredible buy for you. Don't ever sell it. Hand it down to someone in your family.
