When those Goober mini daggers came out,the boot knife and loveless Bannockburn posted, I was all hot for them...except in those days a double edged dagger was a Felony in the Pre shall issue CWL Florida…. and believe it or not a handgun was a misdemeanor and by statute could be open carried in some conditions (though in built up areas they would arrest you for disturbing the peace or reckless display).
No body going to mention one of the shorter Randell #2s?
I carried a F-S knife on patrols and played with some way to carry concealed when in the rear but never did find a comfortable and accessible way to do so. I blunted the last inch of the blade on both sides just ahead of the cross guard incase I needed to go finger over. Sort of like the 1st SSF knife. As it was never used as a tool, never even cut twine or opened an envelope, I kept it stupid sharp. Some how over three years I managed to not cut the sheath which I think the weak link in that system (though sewing it to the seam of our OG over trousers was sort of neat... but then you had to cut it off to send to the laundry so that did not happen much) It was stolen at Ft, Sill, well at my apartment in Lawton, and the one good thing was that who ever stole it cut off the belt hanger portion off the sheath, likely to stick it in a boot top and it was laying in the parking lot next to my car, along with enough blood splatter that the Deputy that also had his car broken into dashed to the hospital to see if anyone showed up with a slashed palm or forearm. No Joy.
I mistakenly tried to replace it with an Indian knock off...
