My mom bought a PT145 a while back, and it ran really well.
Never had a single malfunction, not even in the break in period.

Well, one day we're all getting ready to go on vacation, so I decided to go get her gun for her.
We'd been out of the house, so she'd locked up the gun using a cable lock and the little slide key lock.

I got frustrated trying to turn the slide key lock, and used a little too much force, snapping the little bolt in the lock assembly. Bah.

Well, last weekend she sent the slide off to florida to get repaired, andI expected to wait at least 2 months to get it back from all of the stories you hear on here.

Well, much to our surprise, we received the slide back today, in perfect condition. It even looked as though, they'd given it a detail cleaning while they had it apart! They "overnighted" the pistol back to us, complete with an explanation of what they did.

All in all, I am very impressed with the customer service.

P.S., I'm sure some are going to BAWWWW:( about the key lock breaking in the first place, but I did twist it hard, and it is an easy problem to avoid. She'll just use the cable lock from now on.

Great to hear a "good" story about Taurus CS. I also have a PT145 and have not had to use CS but hope that if I do it will go as well as yours did.

well, i sent some parts back the first of the month, they told me it would take 1-1&1/2 weeks. so far, no parts. so i called them, got put on "forget". eventually, it came to a place where i could leave a message, because all of their reps were busy. no one ever called me back either. monday, they are going to get another call, and i will wait the three or four hours to talk to a real person, so i can chew some a$$!

Well, I guess I got it done by being respectful, and persistent.
I don't think chewing ass is going to get you anything but a jump in blood pressure, and a false sense of satisfaction.

See if you can't get in touch with the service dude with the deep voice. That guy knew his stuff, and was really helpful.

Your experience was an outlier in the world of Taurus CS. Glad it was good, but, you've used up your one chance. Never tempt them again.

well, it has been over a month since i sent in my mags, and the recoil spring to be replaced. they told me that it would take 1-1&1/2 weeks. i called them, and they could not find where anything had been sent to them. so i found my tracking numbers, and verified that the package had been delivered. it had. i called them back, and it took the guy 15 minutes to verify that they had gotten the package (i am certain that he just wnet to the usps website to verify, because he kept saying he could not find it in his system). anyway. after he confirmewd that the package had arrived, and that it was NOT in hteir system, he took my name and number (for the thrird time) and said he would "see what he could do"! i asked if he would call me back and let me know what was going on, his reply was "yes, i will TRY"! NO COMMITTMENT OF ANY TYPE. it has been 4 days, and no phone call. it is opening day of muzzel loading season, so i wont be calling back today. but when i do call, i WILL be asking foar a MANAGER! i just wanted you guys (and women) how great taurus's customer service really is!

Service shouldn't be used when talking about a Taurus . They have no idea what that is. Maybe when they learn to build a good quality pistol they will also learn about service. I have own 2. Two times burned no more.

Taurus QC, like their CS, is spotty. Some (likely most) of their guns are fine, but a few are simply wrong from day one. As for CS, again, some people get great service, others don't.

I have no explanation for this sort of thing, maybe the company does.

Ill bet mike wouldnt shoot any AR cept for a Colt either ;)

only time I had to call taurus was to ask them about mag compatability.. my question was awnserd promptly and clearly, accuratly aswell.

my taurus pistol has run for 10k rds if not more, without a flaw at all!, I keep good care of my gun. so there is no real need for me to bother the customer service side of taurus..

just my exerience.. ip.

I'll be honest; the original post is totally true, but my motives for creating this thread were to lure some anti-taurus folks in here.

"Why?" You may ask. Well, it's because I know Taurus gets a bad rap, and I wondered if it was due to actions, or a few butt-hurt guys.

We've already seen 1 post discussing a statistical "outlier", but no actual data.

And a bunch of cases of hurt feelings.

So far I see no trends

Nor will you. There are plenty of Errornet Commandos willing to tell you about something bad.

I've waited six weeks for the supposedly superior S&W, HK, and Sig rerpair departments to repair pistols that "didn't break". According to the "experts", that just can't happen.

There are a lot of people returning guns for stupid reasons. "It won't hit where I'm aiming", or "it won't feed XYZ ammunition". Most of us are familiar with the favorites of various arms. They don't always feed, and there is nothing wrong with the gun.

Or, take the Ruger P345 example. The OWNERS Manual tells you not to dry-fire the weapon with the magazine out. It was there when you bought the pistol. Yet, when the manual is ignored, because "I already know how to shoot", and the problems erupt, these same heroes blame Ruger for their own stupidity.

I pity the people who say that they expect to find out the truth on anything via the Internet.
