Chris Cerino

He is the only one that I know of as a 'shootist' and he is the only one that I would trust with a loaded gun ---- to have my back in a bad situation.

Still WAYYYYYY too much drama and the host sounds like a true putz.

Enjoying the season so far.

However, like I said earlier, what I REALLY want is to be able to go compete in the course with, say, 5 buddies. No eliminations. We all do all the challenges and score it up individually for a final placing. Better yet, we get to custom design our course in advance based on all the weapons and scenarios available.

People spend a lot of money to go on big group hunting and fishing and other trips. This would be similar.

Kelly said no new show tomorrow.

Made me double check online.... Sure enough, disappointment :(

I love the show, have since season 1. The drama in the following seasons was not great, but it didn't turn me off because it wasn't as bad as the other shows I have put up with. This season certainly is better, and I am rooting for Kelly, Chris, or Jamie.

No comments yet on a ONE MILE shot? Eleven guys taking a completely unfamiliar rifle and hitting a 40" target in under two minutes!! I am surprised this ALL STAR season isn't getting near as much forum talk as when it was a trashy drama festival. Its finally the real shooting show that real shooters have always wanted, the best of the best Lets get excited about it, encourage the network for finally getting it right... and celebrate some fantastic shooting!!

FYI - that is not 'body armor' we wear, but rather a wide elastic belt to hold the microphone pack/transmitter. Its what the sound guys wanted us to wear, but some guys would ditch it and just slide the mic pack into a pocket.

^ It was definitely impressive, especially Jamie.
Was glad to see Gunny stay. I like him.

Hated the elimination. The show is called top shot, and someone went home over something that was not even remotely a shooting contest. That's the only thing I don't like about the show. Other than that, I love it.

Go Jamie!

Was also glad to see George back. Wish he was competing this time. I know its a little ironic that I'm a George fan and a Jamie fan, but whatever. lol

Love the show and haven't missed an episode! Yes, I could complain about historical inaccuracies or too much drama in previous seasons, but who really gives a crap. It's a fun to watch television show about shooting. And, it portrays the sport in a positive light, using shooters who can be looked up to instead of looked down on (even though there have been one or two bad apples). However, I have to say I like it much better this season than the last few. Performance based elimination is a LOT more enjoyable to watch. It seems to be bringing out the positive instead of the negative in everyone. Adam, I do enjoy your sense of humor on the show. It reminds me of certain members of my family. If you were short and fat, I would swear you were one of my relatives!

Another thing I like about the show is the fact that we get to know some of our military folks. I may be a bit biased, I spent a few years in the Army in my early 20's. And I take nothing away from the competition and hobbyist shooters. But I really like the fact that we get to know some of our service members. I appreciate you guys so much.

I am also surprised by how little discussion there now is of Top Shot. Everyone complained about all the drama and soap opera stories from previous seasons and how this season was going to be so much better because it was just shooting. I guess it turns out all the reality show drama was what people were really interested in.

Hey Adam, awesome to see you here on THR! (Which of the two Adams btw?) I am thoroughly enjoying this season, I've seen every episode ever and am enjoying this season the most. The mile shots blew me away! Very impressive and made me a bit jealous too :D Next week looks like a fun episode can't wait to see it. Man I wanna get on this show!

gotta say I've been rootin' for Pete

Thanks for the explanation on the 'what's that they are wearing' .

The mile long shots were in short AMAZING. Not just a little bit. But Jamie doing it in ONE shot and in the fastest time? Truly that was a display of serious skill. ALL the competitors impressed me on that round.

I feel like not very many of us could pull off that shot after an afternoon of practice.

I was waiting for someone at the AtlAtl to say 'at least it wasn't ROCKS'.

^ Don't forget Jamie came in 2nd to George in the 1k yd shot when they were at it. This isn't the first time he's impressed with his long range skills.

Hello friends and neighbors // Thanks for checking in Adam, great shooting ,your second shot at 1 mile was nearly a hit very impressive. Hope you keep doing well.

Jamie, as an armorer, said previously, he had access to a .50cal for practice. He might have even practiced shooting at 1mi. , sure pulled it off like he had.

I like the different styles. Some wait on the impact to adjust, others sent shot after shot without the three second lag. I've never tried a shot over 300yards so lost would be the word for the day ,shooting at 1 mile.

I understand the primitive weapons challenges help bring in different viewers but feel bad for the contestants when everything is on the line using them. Guess if you want to win Top Shot practicing every genera is extremely helpful.

Did anyone say they had been practicing with the AtlAtl or throwing rocks before this season?

Some questions on the mile-long shot: How was the rifle zeroed? Were the competitors told the distance the rifle was zeroed at? Not taking away anything from Jamie, but it seems he got lucky going first, as he was able to fire a cold-bore shot. It seemed as the competition went on, and the barrel heated up, the zero drifted significantly (and, let's face it, even the most minute change is going to result in a significant POI change @ 1 mile). Meaning that if the rifle was zeroed for 1 mile, then all he had to do was read the wind, and adjust - his elevation would have been right on. Remember, with a 40" target, we're talking between 2 and 3 MOA.

And... did George REALLY nail his "first" shot? Or were there a few takes done in order to get that "first shot", umm... shot? Just wondering how much editing is happening prior to airing.

For the 1-mile shot, the scope was zero'ed by George and/or Sawyer for the 1 mile. But they did that early in the morning long before any of us were up to shoot. Temperature was much higher by then (one of the pop-ups during the show said that could move impact by 6ft ??). Winds changed every minute, but we didn't know what winds they had when they zero'ed anyhow. We had no ballistic data at all for the gun or ammo. Going in completely blind and expected to figure it out... for a shot longer than we had ever taken with a borrowed gun someone just hands us. Jamie had some benefit going first because it was "closer" to how it was zero'ed, but with no real info to work with he had to make an educated guess for hold over and that was a calculation Jamie came up with himself to make an amazing shot. Credit to him. Total legit.

You have noooooooo idea how much harder they accidentally make it for us due to a lack of gun knowledge. Its ridiculous at times. For instance... at our 1000yd "practice" we got to take 5 shots? That day the brand of ammo was not cycling properly in the gun, and you saw several guys banging the bolt hard just to get the action open. You never knew if it would cycle. We could not see our hits at all. And they would not let us go down range. So some chick would drive down after our 5 shots and then take a picture with her iphone and show it to us about 20 minutes later. In the bright sun. We couldn't see anything! Totally worthless other than to get a feel for the gun going bang. THAT is the lesser known Top Shot "twist".

Not sure what George's "one shot" re-enactment was supposed to prove. This time he was the technical expert and he had just set up the gun himself and taken plenty of practice shots immediately prior. After all that personal set-up time, making a "one shot" hit for show was far less impressive that when he did it as a cast member in Season 2, with much higher winds, and with a gun someone else set up. And no matter how you sum up either performance, Jamie's ONE MILE one shot trumps anything prior!!

Not taking away anything from Jamie, but it seems he got lucky going first, as he was able to fire a cold-bore shot. It seemed as the competition went on, and the barrel heated up, the zero drifted significantly
I'm pretty sure the barrel temp played a much smaller role then ambient temp. There is quite a long delay between shooters and the craw has to go out and reset/rebuild/replace the exploded target

There is more than one Adam?!?!?

It was a loooooong day at work, and when I asked I somehow got it in my head that Blake's name was also Adam... -sorry Blake-

Wow, thanks a ton for the insight in your last post. Really cool to know more about what's actually happening vs what we see on tv!

I am rooting for all the Marines, but truth? I hope Peter Palma wins. That guy makes me laugh and he seems like a nice enough guy. Gunny Zins is a favorite, but me, my wife, and my kids are all rooting for Pete.

At the end of the day my opinion remaims the same for this season as it has since season 1: hate all you want, but this show is good for shooting, and even moreso these days than before. I couldn't be happier with the image this show portrays of shooters.

sent from my Galaxy Note II.

Peter is great and has been a favorite since his audition video where he was running around in tactical gear and boxers.

Gunny's performance has just confirmed my first impression that his performance envelope is very narrow. Adding speed to any challenge really throws off his focus.

Chris is a personal friend and his lost to Ian in the first season was a flip of the coin (he loss focus when speed mattered); but I'm still rooting for Kelly, who was only done in by his own over caution in loading too many rounds that first season

Not that anyone cares - but

I stopped watching as I could not abide the drama that the producer was trying VERY hard to produce.

The tool of a announcer and the constant replay of what ever we JUST SAW was boring and very annoying to this ex viewer.

I am sure nothing would be changed due to a viewer [ or many viewers ] complaints,so I just turned it off.

I am reading Chris Kyles books, they fill in the time nicely !.
