Thats a sweet little group you got there dubblea.

I got out and shot 50 more rounds at 50 yards with 2 different loads. I beat my entry twice and hope to have 1 of them posted Monday or Tuesday then I going to try 100 yard iron sights. I don't have a mount for a scope that can reach out that far for paper punching. Might have to take a trip to Gander Mtn and see what they got.

The pain of the Red Wings losing was eased some with the Lakers taking the title. :)

Man, I wish I could get out to range for a few more hours.

I adjusted the springs on my "doubling" trigger and made some 55gr Sierra BK and 10x loads, incremented from 21.5gr to 23.5gr(24gr MAX).

I uniformed the primer pockets on these last ones. My reload bench is looking like a Redding catalog.

Sardoy, the Federal Power Shok 50gr bulk ammo has been excellent in my rifle. But several of the rounds had loose bullets. They are 125$/200cnt now but I picked them up when they were 75$/200cnt last summer.

the federal bulk is great but 55gr and 1/7 twist dont match as good as 69/75gr does... but plinking and decent accuracy the 55gr federal is great, even 55gr wulf shoot accurate in my rifle without a problem, but i have seen the accuracy of my rifle with both 55gr & 75gr from worlf and i can tell you the hevier the better.

BTW... 55gr wulf, remington, federal..all shoot great.

yep, we have a new class 2 leader.

this has really been a great class to watch,,,,,heck,,,,,this whole tournament has been good from day one.

we may have to do this again next month.

i like that program, and the way it measures everything automatically.

will update the scoreboard tommorow, lol, actually today now, friday the 19th.

good shootin'!!!!

great group!!!!!

class 2 has really gone back and forth.

you guys are making this a great little tournament!!!!!!

No problem, I'm sure someone is sitting back and laughing at both of us struggling to get to 1 inch while they have a dime sized group waiting in the wings.

only 2 people have used iron sights @ 100yds?Wish I could enter this but a new casa has my weekends for a while.Anyway good shootin' everybody,I finally get to see what others get from a AR no bones about it.Use to get depressed that I was getting 3 inch groups at 100yds with bulk pack ammo but now I'm seeing that is kind of the norm.

I wonder how that blackhills ammo would do in my Hbar....

Thank you very much! FlyinBryan.

It's a wonderful tournament, and the players are very competitive and great shots. There is no point for me to keep on trying because i know my limits. I am withdrawing my self from this match, and if the judges allow it i may enter future match.

It has been an honor to compete among great shooter.
Sarduy.

I just got back from the range with the Armalite after trying a few reloads out. I was fighting the wind and and really bad optics. I did them at 100 yards, benched with a scope. Well, some may not call it a scope but it looks like one. I don't know where they stand in the mix because I haven't been following the post for that class. Here is one of my entries for now for class #4. I'm sure a halfway decent optic and a little tweek here or there on the load and they might have some real potential. Alot of the holes were printing close. The optic was a Barska :what: 4x12x50 with illuminated reticle. It is viginetting so bad that you have to back out and get back in and get one off quick. I tried getting a Leupold off from my other gun but broke 2 Torx bits off. It may be a permanent mount as she stands. Some idiot must have put Loc-tite on the screws. I won't mention any names.

One of the groups I got 4 shots off and my paper plate blew off, walked out and attached it. Shot the remaining 6 but they all grouped about 4 inches low and tight. ***! I checked the elevation screw and it spun without clicking for a bit then she came in and I got to shoot the rest of the loads off. I think the Barska might be a candidate for a Mythbusters episode that I'd like to try out. :)

yep, its just the honor system.

in short, its 10 shots, at a paper plate or any blank piece of paper.

just make sure to not fire more than 10, and measure your group. just measure from center to center, lay the ruler on the group for the pic, or use a program that measures it for you like judah benhur above, and have fun.

there is even a couple of classes that dont have a 3rd place yet so you would be for sure on the leaderboard for now, lol.

formal rules are below.

There will be 4 classes for this competition as follows:

Class #1. Will be from 50yds, standing, freehand, iron sights, 10 shots.
Class #2. Will be from 50yds, bench fired or prone, iron sights, 10 shots.
Class #3. Will be from 100yds, bench fired or prone, iron sights, 10 shots.
Class #4. Will be from 100yds, bench fired or prone, magnified or non-magnified optical sights, 10 shots.

THE RULES

You will fire 10 shots onto the approved target set at the intended range. Groups will be scored by a smallest size wins for all 10 shots.

The target used will be a "paper" plate, you can paint, color or put any dots you wish inside this target but the "group" shot must be on this plate. For those of you who's range rule prohibit the use of a plate, a range approved target may be used. just draw a paperplate sized circle on the approved range target. Inside of this circle will be treated as a paper plate.

You will shoot 10 shots onto the plates adhering to the rules outlined above. When you have a target you're satisfied with you need to make note on the target the following information

username
group size
firearm & sighting system
ammunition
date

then take a pic of it and post it here, if you would post a pic of the rifle used as well.

Here's my entry for #4, it's a whole lot tougher than it looks. Bug holes with 3-5 shots are not a problem. When you start throwing 10 at a time it gets a little harder.

Sorry, I ran out of paper plates, the last group of the day was the best and was shot on a regulation 100yd BR target. I hope it's not a problem.

Here is a pic of all targets

very impressive.

I hope it's not a problem.
lol, well, its going to be a major problem for anyone that wants to win class#4.

other than that, its no problem.

its really about the tightest 10 shot group, not so much about what the target is made of. as long as its a 10 shot group, and measurable, its in.

your in first and i will update the leaderboard tonight.

awesome shooting. i do believe sabre makes one heckuva barrel, and you can obviously do your part too!!!!
