The cutoff date for submissions is July 4th

Is that 23:59 on July 4th GMT, EST, CST, MST, or PST? I'm just wondering if I submit four winning targets (one for each class) 15 seconds before the end of the auction ... I mean match ... that wouldn't give anyone enough time to do any better. :D

Seriously though, I was all set to take a crack at Class #4 this morning but was informed that the range was reserved today for a historical shooting society. I have a match next weekend so it'll have to wait a few more weeks.

:)

lol, that would be pacific time, that way folk out californy-way can get theirs in anytime before 2359.

this also means that the new yorkers get extra time.

on second thought maybe we should say the cut off is sunday night the 5th instead of saturday the 4th.

in fact, the new cut off date is luly 5th.

no point in excluding a perfectly good sunday.

and you dont absolutly have to get plates.

just draw a circle on a piece of paper and fire your best 10rd group.

That o.d. green on black is slick.

if i were to have a two tone look, that it right there.

is that a hogue free float tube? and if it is, did it come with its own gas tube?

No, I used the a2 tube and "low profiled" my old A2 front sight into a lo-pro gas block. But yes it's the Hogue handguard

btw AR of many colors refers to a certain Dolly Pardon song as well as the color sceme

class #2

I didnt know we had places. Ill go ahead and take my place in class #2
1.978 MOA iron sights benchrest. thank you

I had a chance to go out this weekend. Traffic was nuts so I regret that I had a high level of caffeine and nicotine. This is for class 4.

Whitman31
1.05" center-to-center
10 rounds
Home built AR-15 chambered in 204 Ruger
Nikon Monarch 6.5-20X40 scope
Factory Hornady 40gr V-max
6-7-09

I left my caliper at work, I can add a pic later with caliper shown if necessary...

whitman what kind of upper is that? i want to built another ar but this time i want a longer barrel not a M4 style...

There's still a few weeks left for me to figure out my trigger.

Not sure about standing with the bull barrel, but open sights(YHM) I have.

That is a DPMS upper receiver, a Shilen Stainless Select Match 24" barrel with fitted bold, Hogue overmolded free float tube and Harris bipod.

I can't displace Sarduy, but I hope that's not the point (I failed if it was!). My submission for group #1 is:

2.95" Offhand, open sights.
Gun is my department issued Olympic Arms M4gery; stock except for an XS tritium front sight post, light & sling.
Ammo is mixed brand 55gr. ball, leftover grab-bag stuff from our last squad shoot.

I had a little too much fun with my entry after the first 10 shots, but I was shooting for the head of a red tack. Fired 20 rds all together, after decapitating the tack the other 10 werent fired slowly, you can tell.
First 10, 50 yards, A3 sights, 1.188 inches, fired from a bench.
Picture169.jpg
Heres the tack beforehand.
Picture158-1.jpg
Not a tack driver, a tack decapitator (took 10 shots to hit the darn thing).
For a piston rifle with a bigger recoil it shoots pretty nice.

Heres the tack afterwards.

Its not as if I could see the tack, but I knew where it was. You can count the shots as they work their way closer to the tack. I fired in 3 shot groups, in between I left the rifle cool, picked up my brass, and checked the target to reference where to adjust my point of aim next.
I wont try the 100 yd with a scope until some other time this is being done. I have to get new scope rings for my DPMS lopro classic.

SHvar best 10 out of 10 mate. got a little trigger happy there didnt ya. Nice rifle though. i like the piston ars. alot cleaner

ya, it does look great, but is there any way you can do an entry thats just 10 shots?

i really cant put that one up, its like 20 shots, and you might have accidentally circle the BEST TEN, and not the first ten. lol, i know i cant even see my 22cal holes at 50ydswhen im open sighting.

the first five words in the rules:
You will fire 10 shots

you could enter that one with the blue x through it though, it looks like it would maybe be in the top 3.
