Top Shot - Season 3

There goes my theory.

I still think your theory has some validity. Something is gonna happen to bring back Mr. Hughes if my theory is correct and it would seem to be something like a violation on Jake's part in order for it to be possible to legitimately bring Mike back.

Now 'THAT' would be cool.

If that happened, it would redeem a lot for this season in my opinion.

They did a Psych Eval but they never saw Jake's Sociopathic tendencies coming.

I guess some Section 8's do still slip through the cracks of the Psych Evals.

It all comes back to that fine line between ingeniousness and insanity.

(See Sig line below.)

Top Shot on History
TOMORROW ON TOP SHOT: The vote at the nomination range provokes a drastic reaction from one of the shooters and a shocking turn of events leaves competitors stunned. Find out what happens tomorrow night at 10/9c.

For those that don't do FaceBook. This was taken from Top Shot's FaceBook page. I suspect that whatever happens won't take place until the end of the show.

It showed a short video of the competitors shooting a tricked out 1911, one competitor stating Jake "doesn't handle malfunctions well," and a short shot of Jake slapping the back of the 1911's slide trying to get it into battery.

The title of tomorrow night's episode is "Odd Man Out."

Sounds to me like a play on words implying that the 'Odd' person in the group gets eliminated one way or another.

Could be wrong, but um I sure hope it's JAKE!

I wonder if Jake has some kind of PTSD that he has hidden very well until now. I'm sure the show is stressful and maybe didn't help him if he did have it. Just a guess though

He's one heck of a shot though.

I was under the immpression that the host of that show ( Caleb Giddings ) was out of town either covering or competing in a couple different events.

Yep. He was at IDPA World Shoot a few weeks ago. Dunno about last week.

As for continuing the show, here's something that Colby tweeted out a few weeks ago: "Hey Gang - Thanks for sticking with me. I'm in the middle of filming Season 4 of #topshot as well as a Top Shot spin-off show simultaneously. "

He was already taping Season 4, they're putting out casting calls for Season 5, and there's a spin-off show in the works too.

I think the Jake/Dustin standoff may very well be an inevitable outcome.

How poetic, huh?

'Good' vs. 'Evil'

If that's how this season ends, I'd probably say it'd be the most entertaining ending of Top Shot to date.

I believe that IF that were to happen, Jake would probably win, primarily due to his experience as an arrow slinger.

I'm eager to see tonight's episode. I hope it doesn't let me down.

My guess, I don't think Jake would willingly quit. He's made it clear that he's in it to win it no matter what. I definately could see him being sent home for inappropriate conduct. Maybe a physical attack, a threat or pointing a weapon at someone? I don't think it would take much, with his ego, to push him over the edge. A day of bad performance plus some taunting from the others could do it.

Club the seal!

:p

Club the Seal. :D

Crude, but good. Very good.

Somebody mentioned they'd like to have a drink with Jake. Um....yeah, I don't think that'd be a whole lot of fun at all.

Look how insecure, controlling, testy and volatile he is when he's 'Sober.'

Yeah no, I'm good.

I'd rather drink alone. And I don't drink alone.

One man's degrading is another man's jest bringing 'em down to earth a bit-mebbe it's just human nature, but it seems some want to elevate a few folks on the show to deity status...

I ran across this ditty from post 101:
Like the country sounding guy from season 2 said, you need to take all those awards and accolades with a grain of salt. My money for season three is on any of the contestants without a significant competitive resume.

Sounds like others think as I do, including the winner of season 2!

AFA degrading...we've already had one Bubba Jethro reference and my lack of English skills questioned, but that ain't no problem...I jest remember that old Southern saying...Iff'n you can't laugh at yourself, make fun of others...
I'm sure it eats at some folks that a "Bubba Jethro" won season 2.

Don't get disillusioned into thinking that anyone on the show isn't an already accomplished shooter in some field. "Bubba Jethro" would not make it on the show. Everyone has to be already active in competitive shooting, even if they don't do it full time.

Chris Reed:
2010 National Rifle, Shotgun and Archery Finalist
12-gauge Sporting Clays National Champion in 2009
22 Long Rifle National Champion in 2009
Marine Corps honor graduate and Company High Shooter
2009 Runner-up in Field & Stream's "Total Outdoorsman Challenge"

I think Jake gets kicked off for violating a rule. Top Shot has a Facebook page and every week asks who you think will get eliminated? Jake is always the overwhelming favorite and several weeks ago someone with a Jake profile claimed he isn't getting eliminated and is already on the green team. That's when they were split between red and blue. So depending on how far ahead production is with viewing there's a possibility that it was the real Jake who posted it.

Top Shot is not a live event. The entire season is shot before the airing of the first episode. Top Shot Season 4 is probably already done. Jake can't get kicked off the show for violating the non-disclosure agreements after the show, because he would need a time machine.

Well I'm assuming you're referring to me, even though that's not what I said-my quote was;
I doubt Jake would be the someone I would befriend (although how much on the show is an act/strategy?), I'd much rather have a drink with him than the teeth gritter...

And I stand by that statement.

Lemme see...some folks are talking 'bout taunting Jake-a bit hypocritical, aren't we?
AFA PTSD, I don't think Jake can be considered the only candidate. ;)

And AS USUAL, you will have the good sense to not tell folks I've seen this show! :uhoh:

Here it goes, lets see how it shakes out.

I really hope Jake is gone.......

YES!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!

Ok, ill stop there so as not to spoil it for the DVR and hulu crowd but ya. THIS WAS AWESOME!

Wow..Jake just screwed over 2 other people in the house. Quit like that in battle and you are getting people killed.

Oh yeah and what was that he said before he screwed up the competition by not knowing how to operate the gun? Something about "these grand masters can't compete when they aren't shooting "THEIR GUN"?"

Well I think we all knew Jake didn't have much character as a person, but I certainly didn't think he was such a poor sport that he would quit. Pretty embarrassing really.

Good call on whoever it was that said they bring back Mike. Nicely done.

Ya he is easily the worst excuse of a sportmans the show has ever put on. But I thought the elimination challenge was more than fair.

Ok someone in this thread must have inside information....how did bringing back Hughes make any sense at all...other than in a "we can't skip the elimination challenge, we need 30 minutes more footage for this episode" sort of way.

Well damn....Phil is my choice, I hope they didn't bring back the Washington Clipper just to remove my guy.
